[Bug 40361] New: Require at least one alphabetic character in first name and surname patron record fields

https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=40361 Bug ID: 40361 Summary: Require at least one alphabetic character in first name and surname patron record fields Change sponsored?: --- Product: Koha Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: P5 - low Component: Patrons Assignee: koha-bugs(a)lists.koha-community.org Reporter: hdunne-howrie(a)westminster.gov.uk QA Contact: testopia(a)bugs.koha-community.org CC: gmcharlt(a)gmail.com, kyle.m.hall(a)gmail.com We would like to see if possible to add in some data validation to patron records so that name fields would require at least one alphabetic character to be included otherwise the record should not be saved. We have a workaround using some .js we added in so that the save button won't display (with an explanation note to staff) if this criteria is not met, but it occurs to me this isn't a particularly stable way to do data validation and we would like to see this added to the base code. Giving libraries the control over the criteria by which patron record fields can or cannot save would be a massive improvement in ensuring the quality of patron records. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. [Bug 37516] New: Top level editcatalogue should not include edit_items_restricted
by bugzilla-daemon＠bugs.koha-community.org 20 Aug '25

https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=37516 Bug ID: 37516 Summary: Top level editcatalogue should not include edit_items_restricted Change sponsored?: --- Product: Koha Version: 24.05 Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: P5 - low Component: Cataloging Assignee: koha-bugs(a)lists.koha-community.org Reporter: bwsdonna(a)gmail.com QA Contact: testopia(a)bugs.koha-community.org CC: m.de.rooy(a)rijksmuseum.nl When adding top level Edit catalog (Modify bibliographic/holdings data) (editcatalogue) permissions, the subpermission Limit item modification to subfields defined in the SubfieldsToAllowForRestrictedEditing preference (edit_items_restricted) is automatically selected and should not be. Since that subpermission is intended to restrict cataloging, it is not a permission that top level users would need or want. Having that subpermission automatically checked causes a lot of "why can't I edit this". Preferable behavior would be to have that subpermission unchecked when the top level checkbox is selected. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes. [Bug 29880] New: Add_items permission needed for patrons

https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=29880 Bug ID: 29880 Summary: Add_items permission needed for patrons Change sponsored?: --- Product: Koha Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: P5 - low Component: Patrons Assignee: koha-bugs(a)lists.koha-community.org Reporter: jendayi30(a)gmail.com QA Contact: testopia(a)bugs.koha-community.org CC: gmcharlt(a)gmail.com, kyle.m.hall(a)gmail.com Currently, the edit_items permission allows users to both add and edit items. We have a central department that does all the library processing and we'd like to ensure that only the staff in that department be allowed to add items in order to ensure consistency and quality in our records. Ideally, the central department would be able to use the add_items and edit_items option and our staff on the campuses would be able to edit_items only (combined with the edit_items_restricted option). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes. [Bug 31370] New: Additional contents: Preview of default content only

https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=31370 Bug ID: 31370 Summary: Additional contents: Preview of default content only Change sponsored?: --- Product: Koha Version: master Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: P5 - low Component: Tools Assignee: koha-bugs(a)lists.koha-community.org Reporter: caroline.cyr-la-rose(a)inlibro.com QA Contact: testopia(a)bugs.koha-community.org I noticed this while testing bug 29782. I think the root problem is the same, but the problem it causes is minor compared to the created items not showing up at all. When only the language tabs are filled, the preview modal is empty. To test: 1) In a multilanguage installation, go to Tools > HTML customizations 2) Click "New entry" 3) Do not fill the "Default" tab, fill only the language tabs (title and content) 4) Save 5) Click "Preview content" It will say "Preview of" followed by empty title (default title) and empty content (default content). I'm not sure what we would want to appear? All languages one after the other? A tabbed modal (is that possible?)? Different preview buttons? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes. You are the assignee for the bug.
