[Bug 43026] New: Show metadata repair warnings on the biblio detail and MARC detail pages
by bugzilla-daemon＠bugs.koha-community.org 16 Oct '26

https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=43026 Bug ID: 43026 Summary: Show metadata repair warnings on the biblio detail and MARC detail pages Initiative type: --- Sponsorship --- status: Product: Koha Version: Main Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: P5 - low Component: Cataloging Assignee: koha-bugs(a)lists.koha-community.org Reporter: martin.renvoize(a)openfifth.co.uk QA Contact: testopia(a)bugs.koha-community.org CC: m.de.rooy(a)rijksmuseum.nl Depends on: 35104 Target Milestone: --- Bug 35104 records unresolved metadata repair faults (e.g. stripped non-XML characters) in biblio_metadata_errors. Cataloguers reviewing a record via catalogue/detail.pl or catalogue/MARCdetail.pl, rather than opening it for editing, currently have no way to know it was automatically repaired on its last save. This patch lists any unresolved biblio_metadata_errors as a warning banner on both pages. Depends on bug 35104. Test plan: 1. Apply this patch on top of bug 35104. 2. Using a biblio with at least one unresolved metadata error (see bug 35104's test plan for how to create one), open catalogue/detail.pl?biblionumber=X. Confirm the warning banner listing the fault appears. 3. Open catalogue/MARCdetail.pl?biblionumber=X for the same biblio. Confirm the same warning appears there too. 4. Open a biblio with no metadata errors on either page. Confirm no warning banner appears. [Bug 43027] New: Handle undecodable metadata gracefully when merging bibliographic records
by bugzilla-daemon＠bugs.koha-community.org 16 Oct '26

16 Oct '26

https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=43027 Bug ID: 43027 Summary: Handle undecodable metadata gracefully when merging bibliographic records Initiative type: --- Sponsorship --- status: Product: Koha Version: Main Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: P5 - low Component: Cataloging Assignee: koha-bugs(a)lists.koha-community.org Reporter: martin.renvoize(a)openfifth.co.uk QA Contact: testopia(a)bugs.koha-community.org CC: m.de.rooy(a)rijksmuseum.nl Depends on: 35104 Target Milestone: --- Merging into a reference record calls ModBiblio, which can now throw Koha::Exceptions::Metadata::Invalid (bug 35104) if the merged result cannot be saved. cataloguing/merge.pl did not handle this, so the cataloguer would see a raw exception with no indication of what happened to the merge. This patch catches the exception, aborts the merge (the reference record was not modified, since ModBiblio failed before anything was merged away), and shows a clear message. A recoverable fault fixed during the merge is shown as a warning instead, the same as the cataloguing edit form (bug 43025). Depends on bug 35104. Test plan: 1. Apply this patch on top of bug 35104. 2. Merge two normal bibliographic records as usual. Confirm the merge still completes successfully and the report screen displays as before. 3. Arrange for the merge result to be unrecoverable (e.g. temporarily force Koha::Biblio::Metadata::store to throw Koha::Exceptions::Metadata::Invalid for this merge). Attempt the merge. Confirm a clear error is shown, the reference record is unchanged, and no partial merge occurred (the other record(s) were not deleted/merged away). 4. Arrange for the merge result to require automatic repair (a recoverable fault). Confirm the merge completes and the report screen shows a warning describing what was fixed. [Bug 43793] New: 26.05.04 backport of bug 42605 is incomplete
by bugzilla-daemon＠bugs.koha-community.org 16 Oct '26

16 Oct '26

https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=43793 Bug ID: 43793 Summary: 26.05.04 backport of bug 42605 is incomplete Initiative type: --- Sponsorship --- status: Product: Koha Version: 26.05 Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: major Priority: P5 - low Component: Acquisitions Assignee: koha-bugs(a)lists.koha-community.org Reporter: mark(a)hofstetter.at QA Contact: testopia(a)bugs.koha-community.org Target Milestone: --- This is a follow-up to bug 42605: https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=42605 The fix released in Koha 26.05.04 only corrects AcqCreateItem. UniqueItemFields is still converted to the numeric value 0/1, so the acquisition receiving dialog remains broken when items are created on receipt. Tested package ============== koha-common 26.05.04-1 Steps to reproduce ================== 1. Set AcqCreateItem to "receiving an order". 2. Set UniqueItemFields to a non-empty value, for example "barcode|stocknumber". 3. Create an order and open it for receipt. 4. Observe that the receiving dialog remains on its loading indicator and the item-entry form is not displayed. Actual result ============= The English template shipped with 26.05.04 contains: Koha.addPrefs({ AcqCreateItem: "[% Koha.Preference('AcqCreateItem') | html %]", UniqueItemFields: [% Koha.Preference('UniqueItemFields') ? 1 : 0 | html %], }); JavaScript therefore receives the number 1 and additem.js fails when it calls: unique_item_fields.split("|") Expected result =============== Both preferences must remain strings: Koha.addPrefs({ AcqCreateItem: "[% Koha.Preference('AcqCreateItem') | html %]", UniqueItemFields: "[% Koha.Preference('UniqueItemFields') || '' | html %]", }); Cause ===== On main, commit 35b58d65c5 from bug 43211 had already corrected UniqueItemFields before bug 42605 commit 757b347bed was applied. The latter therefore only changes AcqCreateItem in its final diff. The 26.05.04 backport appears to include 757b347bed without the relevant change from 35b58d65c5. This makes the stable backport incomplete even though bug 42605 is listed as fixed in 26.05.04. The same incorrect expression is present in the packaged English and de-DE templates. Applying the expected line locally and restarting Plack restores the item-entry form. Please backport the missing UniqueItemFields change to 26.05.x and include it in the next maintenance release. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes. [Bug 43025] New: Show metadata repair warnings in the cataloguing edit form
by bugzilla-daemon＠bugs.koha-community.org 16 Oct '26

16 Oct '26

https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=43025 Bug ID: 43025 Summary: Show metadata repair warnings in the cataloguing edit form Initiative type: --- Sponsorship --- status: Product: Koha Version: Main Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: P5 - low Component: Cataloging Assignee: koha-bugs(a)lists.koha-community.org Reporter: martin.renvoize(a)openfifth.co.uk QA Contact: testopia(a)bugs.koha-community.org CC: m.de.rooy(a)rijksmuseum.nl Depends on: 35104 Target Milestone: --- Bug 35104 makes Koha::Biblio::Metadata->store() recover non-XML characters and empty datafields automatically (recording what was fixed in biblio_metadata_errors), or throw Koha::Exceptions::Metadata::Invalid when a record's MARCXML cannot be saved at all. This patch surfaces that in the place cataloguers actually hit it: the cataloguing edit form. This patch: - Catches Koha::Exceptions::Metadata::Invalid on save in cataloguing/addbiblio.pl and shows a clear error instead of a raw exception, keeping the form populated so nothing is lost. - Shows a "Record saved with modifications" warning when a save succeeded but required automatic repair. - Lists any pre-existing, unresolved metadata errors when opening a record for editing, each with a quick-link to the affected field (where the field survived the repair) and a "Mark resolved" action. - Adds DELETE /api/v1/biblios/{biblio_id}/metadata/errors/{error_id} to resolve (delete) a metadata error row, used by the "Mark resolved" action. Depends on bug 35104. Test plan: 1. Apply this patch on top of bug 35104. 2. Catalogue a new record (or edit an existing one) and add a control character (e.g. paste text containing a Unit Separator, 0x1F) into a subfield value. Save the record. 3. Confirm the record saves successfully and a "Record saved with modifications" warning banner appears describing what was automatically fixed. 4. Re-open the record for editing. Confirm a "Data quality warnings" banner lists the fault, with a "Go to field" link and a "Mark resolved" button. 5. Click "Go to field" - confirm it switches to the correct tab and scrolls to the affected field. 6. Click "Mark resolved" - confirm the warning disappears immediately and does not reappear after reloading the page. 7. Save a record that cannot be repaired at all (e.g. temporarily force Koha::Biblio::Metadata::store to throw Koha::Exceptions::Metadata::Invalid, or use a MARC::File::XML error you can reproduce) - confirm a clear error message is shown and the form is redisplayed with your data intact, rather than a raw exception or a 500 error. 8. prove t/db_dependent/api/v1/biblios_metadata_errors.t Referenced Bugs: https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=35104 [Bug 35104] We should warn when attempting to save MARC records that contain characters invalid in XML -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
