[Bug 38896] New: Facets' content not ordered properly with accented characters (Zebra and ES)

[Bug 38868] New: numSearchResults and OPACnumSearchResults are not sanity checked
by bugzilla-daemon＠bugs.koha-community.org 15 Jan '25

https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=38868 Bug ID: 38868 Summary: numSearchResults and OPACnumSearchResults are not sanity checked Change sponsored?: --- Product: Koha Version: Main Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P5 - low Component: Searching Assignee: koha-bugs(a)lists.koha-community.org Reporter: dcook(a)prosentient.com.au QA Contact: testopia(a)bugs.koha-community.org It turns out that numSearchResults and OPACnumSearchResults are not sanity checked. If you have high numbers in these system preferences, your search results are going to get very slow, and your browser may actually struggle to render the large quantity of HTML. At a glance, we actually look up these sysprefs in more places than you'd think... and since we use the "preference" function, we don't have an existing way of doing sanity checks (either at setting time or getting time). -- I'd say the options look like building sanity checks into the "preference" function, starting a Koha::Search object that can be used for getting search information, or adding something into our current search classes (although that might be too heavy weight for some contexts). -- Due to the volume of system preferences, obviously adding sanity checks to all system preferences could get unwieldy. But I reckon something needs to be done. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. You are watching all bug changes.

[Bug 38867] New: Optimize Koha::Items->filter_by_for_hold for search
by bugzilla-daemon＠bugs.koha-community.org 15 Jan '25

https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=38867 Bug ID: 38867 Summary: Optimize Koha::Items->filter_by_for_hold for search Change sponsored?: --- Product: Koha Version: Main Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: P5 - low Component: Searching Assignee: koha-bugs(a)lists.koha-community.org Reporter: dcook(a)prosentient.com.au QA Contact: testopia(a)bugs.koha-community.org There are cases where Koha::Items->filter_by_for_hold() is only called 1 time in a HTTP response (e.g. on the various OPAC detail pages or the staff interface cat-toolbar.inc), but in the search results it's called N times where N is the number of records rendered on the page. This can drastically increase the number of queries going to the DB. Out of the box, numSearchResults and OPACnumSearchResults are set to 20, but an admin can set it much higher. I was monitoring a long running search requests where numSearchResults was set to 1000, and many of the queries I saw were from this one function. That said, I didn't get a chance to look at the actual execution time for these queries. Considering what the queries are, chances are most of the time was lost on the "items" and "reserves" table. However, it never hurts to reduce DB queries, especially when the volume of queries increases with the volume of search results. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes. [Bug 38263] New: Add a PDF download option to print a report based on a notice
by bugzilla-daemon＠bugs.koha-community.org 15 Jan '25

https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=38263 Bug ID: 38263 Summary: Add a PDF download option to print a report based on a notice Change sponsored?: --- Product: Koha Version: 24.05 Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: P5 - low Component: Reports Assignee: koha-bugs(a)lists.koha-community.org Reporter: esther.melander(a)bywatersolutions.com QA Contact: testopia(a)bugs.koha-community.org To recreate: 1. Create a notice with styling options. Be sure to assign the notice to the reports module. 2. Create a report for the notice. 3. Run the report and then run with template. >From here it is confusing to know how to print the report. The option is to Download the rendered report. The language used here does not lead the user to know that they can print the rendered report. The process requires downloading the report, opening it with the browser, and then print. It would be nice to offer a Download PDF option right up front. A PDF is a known file format that users know can be printed. This is done for spine labels and table export options. It would be nice here. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes. You are the assignee for the bug.

[Bug 38884] New: Upgrade problem

https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=38884 Bug ID: 38884 Summary: Upgrade problem Change sponsored?: --- Product: Koha Version: unspecified Hardware: PC OS: Linux Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: P5 - low Component: bugs.koha-community.org Assignee: koha-bugs(a)lists.koha-community.org Reporter: afrane55(a)gmail.com QA Contact: testopia(a)bugs.koha-community.org I upgraded from 24.11.00 to 24.11.01 and after the upgrade, Koha rather installed the new version instead of upgrading. I now see system maintenance on the opac and the staff interface is asking me to continue the installation which is usually not the case because I will lose data if I do that. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
