[Bug 43705] New: Rename "Circulation triggers" as "Overdue notice triggers" or "Overdue notice rules"
by bugzilla-daemon＠bugs.koha-community.org 02 Oct '26

02 Oct '26

https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=43705 Bug ID: 43705 Summary: Rename "Circulation triggers" as "Overdue notice triggers" or "Overdue notice rules" Initiative type: --- Sponsorship --- status: Product: Koha Version: Main Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: P5 - low Component: Staff interface Assignee: koha-bugs(a)lists.koha-community.org Reporter: anneli.osterman(a)koha-suomi.fi QA Contact: testopia(a)bugs.koha-community.org CC: gmcharlt(a)gmail.com Target Milestone: --- Bug https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=10190 introduced the new Circulation triggers module in Administration that replaced the Overdue notice/status triggers in the Tools section. The bug has so many comments that I cannot find if there were any conversation about the new name. The new name is in my opinion ambiguous because "circulation" can mean many things: checkin, checkout, renew and so on. The earlier name was more precise and you could immediately understand what the tool does: You can set rules for overdue notices. I propose "Circulation triggers" to be renamed as "Overdue notice triggers" or even "Overdue notice rules". -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes. [Bug 20813] New: Revamp user permissions system
by bugzilla-daemon＠bugs.koha-community.org 02 Oct '26

02 Oct '26

https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=20813 Bug ID: 20813 Summary: Revamp user permissions system Change sponsored?: --- Product: Koha Version: master Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: P5 - low Component: Architecture, internals, and plumbing Assignee: koha-bugs(a)lists.koha-community.org Reporter: kyle(a)bywatersolutions.com QA Contact: testopia(a)bugs.koha-community.org Koha's current user permissions system is a bit convoluted and limited due to it's legacy where the permissions system was a simple set of flags. A second layer of sub-permissions were later added complication and obfuscation to the system. We should revamp the permissions system to be a more modern system and open the path to having unlimited nesting of sub-permissions instead of shoe-horning sub-permissions into the limited system we have. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
