This patch adds a new report section (Report/log files) that lets you access log files in a specific directory on the server. The directory to use can be specified by the "publiclogdir" config in koha-conf.xml : <config> ... <publiclogdir>/var/log/koha-public</publiclogdir> ... </config> With this feature, you can configure cron scripts so they create files in the publiclogdir directory, and these files will then be accessible in the intranet. This is useful when using the html export of overdue_notices.pl or the invalid_856u.sh script as a cron. The encoding problems appear for umlauts in the data from the database and also for the strings in the templates. Examle: Bärbel as name for the contact, or "Kontakt für verspätete Hefte" (contact for late issues). The problems are visible on the summary page and on the edit form. The problem is inconsistent, because sometimes when you open the page everything is ok... then only the database data shows the problem and the strings from the template are ok... and then both is broken. There is no apparent reason why. The issue seems to be more prevalent when fulfilling holds (checkin-in) to be transferred to another branch. Traced the issues to a race condition between printing a just-fulfilled hold and writing the itemnumber to the reserves-table. Can be reproduced by entering the following to a javascript console. The page showing the ordered records appearst to be always correct, but there are problems with the spent page. At the moment, the problem always seems to occur for the 'serials' fund in each library (subscription order workflow?) The list is missing records in this case and the total is incorrect and not matching the value shown on the acq start page. I've done it at our middle school before but we always cut off book circulation before doing inventory. At the high school, our collection is so large that we have to do inventory earlier and need to continue circulating through the process. We started the process fine but ran into a problem today when I was uploading our fiction barcodes into KOHA to see the dates last seen. When I uploaded them into the Inventory/Stocktaking area, I got a list of barcodes with the message "item was on loan. It was returned before marked as seen." When I looked up the barcodes, they were all books that were checked out during the day today. When I went back into those patron accts, their checkouts had been erased. ---------- So, I think the problem here is that there is no warning or way to tell Koha to not check the items in, it just checks them in and that's that. We need the inventory tool to either ask before running if it should check things in (an enhancement) or we need a warning saying that it will check things in (a temp fix for the bug). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
