So if you try to link a patron attribute type with an AV category with a length > 10, the link won't be done. This patch prevents the whole program from dying, because this error is not critical enough to warrant dying. Also there is no centralized mechanism in Koha for showing messages to the user, so there is no easy and convenient way to warn the user that the: 'LastCreatedItem'-cookie or the systempreference 'PrefillItem' is malfunctioning. The problem is there is no locking to ensure that someone else doesn't add a member at the same time and create a duplicate card number. This patch adds the missing locking in.
