This means that for a library using the CART and PROC locations, accurate data about an item's permanent location at the time of check-out can only be gathered through a report linking to the item record. Since some APIs under /svc/ happen to use that MIME type in their responses, a bit of bandwidth can be unnecessarily wasted. However, the lack of compression is of more import for svc/cataloguing/framework, which transfers a megabyte or so whenever it is invoked to fetch the default MARC21 framework (and presumably a similar amount of data for other MARC frameworks). If that server is behind a proxy these features do not work. We can use Plack::Middleware::RealIP to automatically convert the X-Forwarded-For header into the REMOTE_ADDR environment variable so no Koha code need be modified. A future enhancement could be to take advantage of the module's trusted_proxy setting to allow Koha to use these feature even after going through *multiple* proxies.
