This can be confusing to patrons. To reproduce: 1. Circulation rules must prevent on-shelf holds (I used just one all/all rule with If all unavailable to prevent crossing the streams) 2. In the OPAC, make a search that will give you a couple of results 3. Find a record where all items are available --> Place hold button is visible 4. Log in (so that Koha knows your patron category and library) 5. Redo steps 2 and 3 --> Place hold button is visible 6. To recreate, open /etc/koha/apache-shared-intranet-plack.conf and add RequestHeader add X-Koha-SetEnv "OVERRIDE_SYSPREF_Foo Bar" Add some warn, mainpage.pl and Koha/REST/V1/Patrons.pm (sub list) for instance warn C4::Context->preference('Foo'); Hit the mainpage, look at the log, you see "Bar". I can even click on Export and choose and option, but then it there is a little loading wheel animation but it never goes anywhere. Set up the Point of Sale (POS) system preference --Enable the "EnablePointOfSale" pref --Enable the "UseCashRegisters" pref --Set up a cash register --Enable the "RequirePaymentType" 2. Go to a patron account and create a manual invoice - save and pay. 3. Make or leave the amount tendered as the charged amount so that you don't have to provide any change. Then attempt to confirm the transaction without adding a payment type. --"This field is required." will pop up next to payment type. 4. Now change the amount tendered to a higher amount so that you have to provide change to the patron. Then attempt to confirm the transaction type without adding a payment type. --"The amount collected is more than the outstanding charge" pop up box will appear confirming the change you will provide to the patron. Select "Yes". This will cause a 500 error to occur or in some library cases it will go through without providing an error.
