They can use Koha's API to update patron info, however, we don't have any way (that I know of) to notify an external system when a patron info is changed in Koha. In order to allow bidirectional communications, we are planning to add hooks. One use case would be adding mappings for KBART files as suggested by bug 38911. KBART files from GoKB and other knowledge bases use the COUNTER "feature" of providing additional information and important identifiers as additional columns in KBART. Storing them in Koha would be very beneficial. But additional fields could also be used for a lot of others useful things. To reproduce: 1. Download the joined MARC file containing 5 records. 2. Run the import command: ./misc/migration_tools/bulkmarcimport.pl -b --file=marc_file.mrc 3. PatronSelfRegistrationBorrowerMandatoryField, find Gender(sex) and mark it as required. 2. Go to the self registration form. No 'Required' label. Also, this field is different because of the radio buttons. You cannot select a non value here so it makes interacting with PatronSelfRegistrationBorrowerMandatoryField weird. Patron's card expires on ...", doesn't appear. This issue happens when the patron comes into the library exactly 30 days from their expiration. In this case, MembershipExpiryDaysNotice = 30 days and NotifyBorrowerDeparture = 30 days. So for example, the patron's expiration date is 05/11/2018. On 4/11/2018 the patron gets their notice, as expected. They come into the library on 4/11/2018 and the checkout message alerting staff to the impending expiration message doesn't show. Checking the same account on 4/12/2018 shows the message "Attention: Expiration: Patron's card will expire soon. Patron's card expires on 05/11/2018 Renew or Edit Details" on the checkout screen. To summarise: 1) Spacing between 'Clear' and 'New' buttons on input fields needs work 2) When viewing repeatable, searchable fields in display tables we use a comma separated list instead of field per line. 3) When viewing fields in details display the alignment of the addiional field labels and container is inconsistent I'd go further on point one and ask why we need 'Clear' as a distinct element as it's inconsistent with the 'normal' field entry input boxes. I think I'd prefer to try and make additional fields as consistent as possible with normal input fields, perhaps embedding a 'x' clear check within the far right of input fields to give that 'Clear' functionality accross both additional field and normal field inputs. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
