For performance and code clarity it would be sensible to add a tablename field to the additional_field_values table to denote which table the value is pertaining to.. we could index this too. Have an import file ready with a few records that also include 952 items records from the existing system. Be sure the item record includes a 952$9 with item record numbers. 2. Stage the record and select a record matching rule to match on the 020, replace existing record with incoming. 3. Select 'Yes' to check for embedded item data and to replace items if matching bib was found. 4. Stage for import. 5. View the batch. 6. Review the records in the batch. Click on the titles to preview the MARC records. Notice the 952$9 item record numbers have hyperlinks. Hover over the 952$9 and see the hyperlink takes the user to an authority record. The authority record id may or may not actually exist in the database. With the export option, it's easy to work on this corpus, and, sometimes, find some titles we finally don't want in that list. If they are numerous, it's for now quite painful to find and delete them. The refactoring itself was achieved starting from AI-proposed changes which were then thoroughly re-worked manually towards the code changes submitted. I also trialled using it (currently experimenting with this) for minor coding tasks where there is a clear precedent (for example, to add renewal/autorenewal information and do so in a way that follows exactly what we had written).
