To avoid that an easy to achieve fix would be to add a configurable timeout via max_statement_time to the query. This way the query would abort automatically if going over the time limit. This means hold rules defined in the issuingrules table are not being respected when allocating an item to a bib-level hold. For example, A biblio 'Fish' has items with two different item types 'BK' and 'CR'. In the circulation rules the patron category 'B' (Board) with the item type 'BK' has a reservesallowed value of 0 and a holds_per_record value of 0. Patron A (who has a patron category of 'B') can place a bib-level hold on 'Fish' biblio as there is an item with itemtype of 'CR' which they are permitted to reserve. If the 'BK' item is returned first then that will be allocated to fill patron A's bib-level hold, even though in the issuingrules 'B' patrons cannot place a hold on 'BK' items. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes. This could be used for adding specific fields to hold queue etc, item search, holdings table. To reproduce (in ktd): 1) Turn EasyAnalyticalRecords on. 2) Link the item 3999900000001 (originating from biblio #1) to biblio #2 (with New > Link to host record). 3) Check that you are able to see the linked item in staff detail and OPAC detail (biblio record #2) and also on the staff results page (make a search with the word 'behind'). Verify that on the OPAC results page (with the same search) you get: "Availability: No items available."
