[Bug 39118] New: Make facet labels translatable
by bugzilla-daemon＠bugs.koha-community.org 14 Oct '26

14 Oct '26

https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=39118 Bug ID: 39118 Summary: Make facet labels translatable Change sponsored?: --- Product: Koha Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: P5 - low Component: Searching - Elasticsearch Assignee: koha-bugs(a)lists.koha-community.org Reporter: caroline.cyr-la-rose(a)inlibro.com QA Contact: testopia(a)bugs.koha-community.org Bug 35138 made adding or modifying facets much easier. However, and it was pointed out at the start of the bug report, user-created facets (or user-modified facets) aren't translatable. It would be great if we could have a way of translating them (without using the JS hack). To recreate: 1. Make sure your installation is using ElasticSearch (if using ktd, do `ktd --es7 up` or `ktd --es8 up`) 2. Make sure your installation has at least two languages 2.1. Install new language ktd --shell --root koha-translate --install fr-CA --dev kohadev 2.2. Go to Administration > System preferences 2.3. Search for languages 2.4. Check the new language in OPACLanguages and StaffInterfaceLanguages 2.5. Click 'Save all I18N/L10N preferences' 3. Add a facet (for example, Genre/Form on 655$a in MARC21) 3.1. Go to Administration > Search engine configuration (Elasticsearch) 3.2. In the 'Search fields' tab, find index-term-genre 3.3. Change the label to 'Genre/Form' 3.4. Click 'Save' 3.5. Go to the 'Bibliographic records' tab 3.6. In the last row of the 'Facet order' table, choose 'index-term-genre' 3.7. Click 'Add' 3.8. Click 'Save' 3.9. Go to the 'Bibliographic records' tab again 3.10. Find index-term-genre and change 'Facetable' to 'Yes' 3.11. Click 'Save' 4. Reindex ktd --shell ./misc/search_tools/rebuild_elasticsearch.pl -b -v -d (DO NOT USE -r or all your work in step 3 will be lost :((( ) 5. Search for "comedy" in the staff interface catalog --> The new facet is there with its label "Genre/Form" 6. Switch the interface to the other language 7. Redo step 5 --> The new facet's label is not translated 8. Search for "comedy" in the staff OPAC catalog --> The new facet is there with its label "Genre/Form" 9. Switch the OPAC to the other language 10. Redo step 8 --> The new facet's label is not translated Note: "Hardcoded" facets, such as Authors, Topics, etc. are currently translatable. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. [Bug 42170] New: Librarian-Controlled AI Crawler and Search Traffic Management for OPAC Search Page
by bugzilla-daemon＠bugs.koha-community.org 14 Oct '26

14 Oct '26

https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=42170 Bug ID: 42170 Summary: Librarian-Controlled AI Crawler and Search Traffic Management for OPAC Search Page Initiative type: --- Sponsorship --- status: Product: Koha Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: new feature Priority: P5 - low Component: OPAC Assignee: oleonard(a)myacpl.org Reporter: vimalibre(a)gmail.com QA Contact: testopia(a)bugs.koha-community.org I would like to propose a feature for Koha to help libraries manage excessive automated traffic, especially on the OPAC search endpoint such as: opac.yourdomain.com/cgi-bin/koha/opac-search.pl In some cases, this page is being heavily accessed by AI crawlers and other automated agents, which can consume significant server resources and affect normal library service performance. At present, libraries may control this only through external tools such as Cloudflare, Fail2ban, firewall rules, or reverse proxy configurations. However, these approaches often require dedicated IT support, which many libraries may not have. It would be very helpful if Koha could provide built-in tools, configurable from the librarian/staff interface, to allow libraries to manage this traffic based on their own capacity and policy. Requested Functional Requirements: Enable/Disable AI crawler access to OPAC search page Provide an option in the staff interface to allow or disallow AI crawlers from accessing the OPAC search page. This should be manageable by authorized library administrators without requiring server-level intervention. Allow selected crawlers only Provide a configurable allowlist option so that the library may permit only selected crawlers or bots while blocking others. This would help libraries that want discovery/indexing benefits from specific services without opening access to all automated agents. Rate limiting for OPAC search endpoint Provide an option to enable configurable rate limiting specifically for high-hit pages such as opac-search.pl. This may help reduce server load caused by repeated automated queries. Challenge or verification for suspicious/concurrent hits Provide an option to trigger a challenge or verification step when unusually high concurrent requests are detected from the same IP or user agent. This may help distinguish genuine users from abusive automated access. Traffic monitoring and analytics Provide a simple monitoring dashboard or reporting tool within Koha to show: hit counts to the OPAC search page, top requesting IPs, top user agents, frequency trends, possible abusive patterns. This would help librarians or library administrators understand how the page is being used and identify resource-heavy access. View hit count by IP Provide an interface to view the number of requests coming from a specific IP address over a defined period. This would support easier investigation of suspicious traffic. Optional blocklist integration Provide an option for authorized administrators to add suspicious IPs to a Koha-managed deny list. Where feasible, Koha could also support optional mapping/export of such IPs for OS firewall or reverse proxy blocking. Optional Cloudflare/API-based rule integration For libraries already using Cloudflare or similar services, an optional integration could be provided where administrators enter API credentials and enable predefined protection rules from within Koha. This could simplify deployment of recommended protections without requiring advanced IT intervention. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Right now, if you put <item></item> more than once, it doesn't work properly, as the function GetPreparedLetter (C4/Letters.pm) does the following. [Bug 41932] New: Allow optional zero-padding in items.cn_sort
by bugzilla-daemon＠bugs.koha-community.org 14 Oct '26

14 Oct '26

https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=41932 Bug ID: 41932 Summary: Allow optional zero-padding in items.cn_sort Initiative type: --- Sponsorship --- status: Product: Koha Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: P5 - low Component: Cataloging Assignee: koha-bugs(a)lists.koha-community.org Reporter: m.de.rooy(a)rijksmuseum.nl QA Contact: testopia(a)bugs.koha-community.org CC: m.de.rooy(a)rijksmuseum.nl We have callnumbers like 1 A 1, 10 A 10, 100 A 100 and 1000 A 100. Alphabetically sorting those does not work (100 A 100 < 2 A 2) This proposal includes adding a syspref to define callnumber formats that also specify the desired length when zero-padding cn_sort. This would be active when using C4::ClassSortRoutine::Generic. In the above case we would like to sort them with 0001 A 001, 0010 A 010, 0100 A 100 and 1000 A 100. So the first digit block has length 4, the second block 3. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes. You are the assignee for the bug.

[Bug 34808] New: Batch Patron Modification Tool - Select all / clear all does not select/clear all

Open the Batch Patron Modification Tool 2. Insert or open a file with 25+ card numbers or borrower numbers to modify then click on continue. 3. Notice that there are 2 or more pages of entries showing. If you click on clear all, it will only clear entries 1-20 but not anything on the second page (21-...). Similarly if you clear both pages and try to select all, it will only select the entries on the page you are viewing. It would useful if the select all/clear all worked on all entries. Especially for libraries that are modifying hundreds of patrons. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes. You are the assignee for the bug.
