[Bug 15248] Make it possible to configure duplicate check on bibliographic records
by bugzilla-daemon＠bugs.koha-community.org 18 Sep '26

https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=15248 --- Comment #55 from Andrew Fuerste-Henry <andrew(a)bywatersolutions.com> --- (In reply to Pedro Amorim (ammopt) from comment #54) > Issue #2: > 1) Go to 'Cataloging' > 'New record' > (http://localhost:8081/cgi-bin/koha/cataloguing/addbiblio.pl?frameworkcode=) > fill in field 020 $a with a test ISBN (e.g. 9781234567897) and a title in > 245 $a, then 'Save' > 2) Catalog a second new record, same 'Default framework', same 020 $a ISBN, > 'Save', confirm Koha shows the normal 'Duplicate record suspected' warning, > this is your baseline proving duplicate detection currently works > 3) Go to 'Administration' > 'Record matching rules' > (http://localhost:8081/cgi-bin/koha/admin/matching-rules.pl) click 'New > rule', fill in a 'Rule code' and 'Description', set 'Record type' to > 'Authority record' and 'Threshold' to 100, under 'Match points' set 'Search > index' to Local-Number, 'Score' to 100, 'Tag' to 001, then save > 4) Go to 'Administration' > 'MARC frameworks' > (http://localhost:8081/cgi-bin/koha/admin/biblio_framework.pl) click 'Edit' > on 'Default framework' > 5) In the 'Matching rules used to find duplicates' dropdown, select the > authority rule from step 3, then 'Submit' > 6) Repeat step 1/2 exactly, same ISBN, still 'Default framework', 'Save' > 7) No duplicate warning appears at all this time, even though it's the exact > same ISBN collision as step 2. Nothing in the UI stopped you from picking an > authority rule here, and picking one silently breaks duplicate detection for > that framework instead of using the description-visible 'Matching rules used > to find duplicates' feature correctly No existing code in Koha makes sure one is selecting a biblio matching rule when working with biblio records. Both stage-marc-import.pl and addorderiso2709.pl show a full list of defined matching rules, regardless of record_type. That said, I've mixed feelings about arguing that this code should be allowed to follow our existing poor standard. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[Bug 43516] New: Harden the frontend HttpClient and add a shared API error formatter
by bugzilla-daemon＠bugs.koha-community.org 18 Sep '26

18 Sep '26

https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=43516 Bug ID: 43516 Summary: Harden the frontend HttpClient and add a shared API error formatter Initiative type: --- Sponsorship --- status: Product: Koha Version: Main Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: P5 - low Component: Architecture, internals, and plumbing Assignee: koha-bugs(a)lists.koha-community.org Reporter: martin.renvoize(a)openfifth.co.uk QA Contact: testopia(a)bugs.koha-community.org Blocks: 41129 Target Milestone: --- This patch hardens the shared frontend HttpClient (both the plain fetch/http-client.js used by most Vue API clients, and the Vue-composable variant in vue/fetch/http-client.js) against malformed and unreachable API responses, and adds a generic, translated API error formatter. Specifically: - Guard against malformed JSON in responses (a truncated body, a proxy error page, a session-expired redirect) instead of letting the parse error surface as the failure. - Preserve the HTTP status and Koha error_code on thrown errors so callers can branch on them. - Add a per-request config object (config.signal to cancel the underlying fetch via AbortController, config.suppressDefaultErrorDialog for callers that present their own error UI). - Add fetch/api-error.js: a small, translated formatApiError() helper that turns a thrown API error into a user-facing message (401, 403, network-unreachable, and generic fallback cases). This is generic frontend infrastructure with no feature-specific behaviour; it's split out from bug 41129 (booking workflows) because several later patches depend on it and it benefits from independent review. Test plan: 1. Run: yarn cypress run --component --browser electron --spec 't/cypress/component/HttpClient_spec.ts,t/cypress/component/VueHttpClient_spec.ts,t/cypress/component/fetch/api-error_spec.ts' 2. Verify all specs pass. [Bug 43155] New: POS breaks on modal if change required
by bugzilla-daemon＠bugs.koha-community.org 18 Sep '26

18 Sep '26

https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=43155 Bug ID: 43155 Summary: POS breaks on modal if change required Initiative type: --- Sponsorship --- status: Product: Koha Version: 25.11 Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: P5 - low Component: Point of Sale Assignee: koha-bugs(a)lists.koha-community.org Reporter: cbrannon(a)cdalibrary.org QA Contact: martin.renvoize(a)openfifth.co.uk Target Milestone: --- This only happens if the patron is owed change. If we enter in an exact amount tendered, everything works. We are seeing a bug with the POS. If I have an amount owed in the POS, like $1.25, and I enter $2.00 tendered, and press confirm, a modal comes up asking to confirm the change owed. If I press yes, nothing happens. If I run console.log("Koha:", Koha); console.log("Koha.prefs:", Koha?.prefs); directly in the browser console on that page, I get: Koha: { ... } Koha.prefs: undefined It looks like Koha.prefs is not being initialized. If I run this in the console on that page: Koha.prefs = Koha.prefs || {}; Koha.prefs.FinePaymentAutoPopup = false; Then I enter the amount tendered over the amount owed, the confirmation comes up, I press yes, and it works. I temporary workaround I've come up with seems to get us by for the moment: //TEMPORARY Workaround for POS bug - 7/22/26 $(function () { Koha = window.Koha || {}; Koha.prefs = Koha.prefs || {}; }); //TEMPORARY Workaround for POS bug - 7/22/26 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. [Bug 42669] New: es_indexer_daemon.pl silently marks jobs finished on indexing failure and doesn't recover from NoNodes
by bugzilla-daemon＠bugs.koha-community.org 18 Sep '26

18 Sep '26

https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=42669 Bug ID: 42669 Summary: es_indexer_daemon.pl silently marks jobs finished on indexing failure and doesn't recover from NoNodes Initiative type: --- Sponsorship --- status: Product: Koha Version: Main Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: major Priority: P5 - low Component: Searching - Elasticsearch Assignee: koha-bugs(a)lists.koha-community.org Reporter: tomascohen(a)gmail.com QA Contact: testopia(a)bugs.koha-community.org Blocks: 39769 es_indexer_daemon.pl has two issues that cause silent data loss: 1. When update_index() throws an exception (e.g. NoNodes, BadResponse), the exception is caught and logged, but the job is still marked status='finished'. This means records are never re-indexed and silently disappear from search results. 2. The Search::Elasticsearch client (cxn_pool=Static) marks nodes as 'dead' after a connection failure and applies exponential backoff up to 60 minutes. Since the indexer objects are created once at daemon startup, a brief ES restart (e.g. Docker upgrade) leaves the daemon permanently stuck in NoNodes state until manually restarted. Fix: - On NoNodes: abort the batch, recreate the indexer object (resetting the connection pool), and reset jobs to status='new' for automatic retry. - On other indexing errors: mark jobs as 'failed' instead of 'finished'. Test plan: 1. Start es_indexer_daemon.pl 2. Stop Elasticsearch 3. Add/modify a biblio record (triggers indexing job) 4. Verify the job stays in status='new' (not 'finished') 5. Restart Elasticsearch 6. Verify the job is picked up and indexed successfully Referenced Bugs: https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=39769 [Bug 39769] es_indexer_daemon.pl uses stale L1 cache -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
