We track the item type and item number, but we only track the borrowernumber for the patron and part way through the year the patron's category could change from child to adult - or the patron could be deleted and that will mess with the statistics on circulation/actions based on patron category. The result is many, many more results than one would otherwise expect. This happens even though the patron is alerted that they cannot place an additional reserve on the same item. Here is what the staff side looks like: http://screencast.com/t/ODEzNmY3 The behavior of these duplicate reserves on the items reserve list is that both are displayed, but if you try to delete one, both will be deleted and the patron loses the reserve. When searching with this choice, the results are indeed sorted by surname. 2) Cardnumber. When searching with this choice, the results seem to be sorted by first name. ===== What is exactly the problem then? A) Should we be able to sort by first name/surname and then Cardnumber must be renamed to First name? B) Should we be able to sort by surname/cardnumber and then the sorting must be repaired for the cardnumber option?
