The issue at hand is that this changes the time description for fines. Let us assume the time format is currently 24 hour, and there are overdue items with accruing fines. When the format is changed to 12 hour, and fines.pl is run, it will begin looking for fines with a 12 hour format. Since there are no, it will create a new fine and you will now have two fines for the same item! There are solutions which require database manipulation: 1) Update all existing fines from 24 hour to 12 hour format 2) Delete all existing accruing fines so they are all regenerated the following night The accounts rewrite ( Bug 6427 ) will resolve this issue, as it does not look for existing fines based on the description. I believe the best course of action until bug 6427 is pushed to master is to add a warning to the system preference to not alter it on a production server with existing fines. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. We track the item type and item number, but we only track the borrowernumber for the patron and part way through the year the patron's category could change from child to adult - or the patron could be deleted and that will mess with the statistics on circulation/actions based on patron category. I suggest following change: Parameters: - change active currency - add new currencies (?) New permission: acquisition > manage_currencies - update exchange rates for existing currencies - add new currencies (?) Not sure about adding new currencies. Any opinions on this? Is it a good idea? This patch adds a Z39.50 Linker which searches for authority links on a remote server. If a matching authority is found, it's imported in the local database for linking with the current biblio record. If no matching authority was found on the remote server, the Linker falls back to a local authority search. Configuration : * The option "Z39.50 Server" is added to the LinkerModule preference. You must choose this to use the new Linker. * The preference LinkerZ3950Server is required and specifies which server to use for linking. It must contain the "name" of the server, as defined in the z3950servers table. * You can set the "local_first" option in the LinkerOptions preference to force the Linker to search for authorities in the local database first. If no local authority match was found, the Linker falls back to a remote Z39.50 search. This patch depends on code added in Bug 11299, and must be applied after it.
