Over the next renewal, you will have to set it again which is very tedious. Bug 19263 introduced a feature that uses an authorized value to set up ranges of auto-incremented control numbers in bib records. Could something similar be used for card numbers? It would be nice for the library to choose the format of the barcode (for example : system preference autobarcode).
