The cleanest approach would be to rename the current 'owner' database field to 'owner_id' and then write the usual Koha::Object relation wrapper into Koha::Virtualshelf. Smallest amount is around 2000, but largest is over 25000. Even with batch of 2000 orders, lateorders.pl takes over 40 seconds to open. Handling larger batches eventually leads to a Proxy error. Those are very different states.
