You can now only empty out the pref and affect both bibliographic records and items to undo the change or accept that both show the same text. I think this should become a native feature for the Koha OPAC with some expanded functionality. Some Examples: 1. A patron account saves search histories. These function in some ways like a saved search (also addressed in Bug 36404). These saved search histories are also a link. That link could be used in a button that appears on the OPAC home page. Perhaps something similar to a Browse Category in Aspen Discovery. While it is possible to code something like this now, a management tool may be useful in the staff interface, perhaps in Tools and called Featured Collections. This tool could allow the user to turn on or off Featured Collection, schedule it, etc. 2. Expand Lists to include functionality of displaying on the OPAC home page as a featured collection. Lists could be added in a Featured Collections tool but would allow the user to create curated lists. The Featured Collections could appear on the OPAC home page as buttons. So the user would need the ability to name the collection. There could be discussions on the number of buttons that can appear, whether they should rotate, etc. The CoverFlow Plugin would still be available if the library would like a rotating carousel of book covers. Right now, that is a major gap when using a discovery system. We can communicate with the patron in their account in the OPAC, but not through their account in Aspen, or other third party catalogs. We need a bit more granularity to hold policy on circulation rules for libraries using item group holds. Currently, libraries can only specify 'holds per record' in circulation rules, which is not a one-size-fits-all-holds solution - if they generally only want patrons to have one hold on a record for, say, books, but their manga collection is also a book item type, they have to set Holds per record (count) to a high or unlimited threshold to accommodate group holds. It would be great if circ rules could indicate a limit to holds per item group to give libraries flexibility in using item groups; many libraries probably only want one hold per item group, but they may have a collection where patrons can make multiple requests per group.
