[Bug 39503] New: Linker should always respect thesaurus with LinkerConsiderThesaurus on
by bugzilla-daemon＠bugs.koha-community.org 09 Sep '26

https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=39503 Bug ID: 39503 Summary: Linker should always respect thesaurus with LinkerConsiderThesaurus on Change sponsored?: --- Product: Koha Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: trivial Priority: P5 - low Component: MARC Authority data support Assignee: januszop(a)gmail.com Reporter: januszop(a)gmail.com QA Contact: testopia(a)bugs.koha-community.org CC: m.de.rooy(a)rijksmuseum.nl, nick(a)bywatersolutions.com With bug 30280 and subsequent patches we attempt to respect the thesaurus indication when linking with LinkerConsiderThesaurus on. However, there are still cases when we link wrong. Example: biblio: 650 _1 $a Philosophy [thesaurus: Library of Congress Children's and Young Adults' Subject Headings] will be linked to an authority 008/11 = a [Library of Congress Subject Headings] 150 __ $a Philosophy if 008/11 = b [Library of Congress Children's and Young Adults' Subject Headings] 150 __ $a Philosophy is missing in the system. This is obviously wrong--we should not link to a authority record belonging to a different thesaurus. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[Bug 39418] New: RDA Carrier, Content, & Media Vocabularies
by bugzilla-daemon＠bugs.koha-community.org 08 Sep '26

08 Sep '26

https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=39418 Bug ID: 39418 Summary: RDA Carrier, Content, & Media Vocabularies Change sponsored?: --- Product: Koha Version: Main Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: P5 - low Component: Cataloging Assignee: koha-bugs(a)lists.koha-community.org Reporter: ephetteplace(a)cca.edu QA Contact: testopia(a)bugs.koha-community.org CC: m.de.rooy(a)rijksmuseum.nl On our Koha, we've loaded the RDA vocabularies for MARC 336 Content, 337 Media, and 338 Carrier into our authorized values in order to connect them with the $a and $b subfields of those fields in our MARC frameworks. This bug would preload these vocabularies for new instances of Koha. There are two AV categories per field, one for the human-readable term ($a) and one for a short code ($b). I made the lib/lib_opac text for the codes the term they represent, so one does not have to memorize the meanings of the codes. I do not see any instance of an authorized value being connected with a MARC field during installation (looking in installer/data/mysql/en/marcflavour/marc21/mandatory/marc21_framework_DEFAULT.yml where all the authorised_value properties are empty) so I have not done so with these either. That seems reasonable; some libraries may want to use different terms. But the RDA vocabs are widely used and stable, so including them as an option for catalogers is worthwhile. To load these into an existing Koha instance, this is the SQL we used: https://github.com/phette23/scrape_rda_vocabs/blob/main/koha.sql -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes. [Bug 22322] New: Self-checkin module should provide for automatic logins (like self-checkout)
by bugzilla-daemon＠bugs.koha-community.org 07 Sep '26

https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=22322 Bug ID: 22322 Summary: Self-checkin module should provide for automatic logins (like self-checkout) Change sponsored?: --- Product: Koha Version: master Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: P5 - low Component: Circulation Assignee: koha-bugs(a)lists.koha-community.org Reporter: oliver.behnke(a)aei.mpg.de QA Contact: testopia(a)bugs.koha-community.org CC: gmcharlt(a)gmail.com, kyle.m.hall(a)gmail.com Target Milestone: --- The self-checkin (SCI) module currently requires to set up a dedicated kiosk terminal for its purpose. The reason being that you can't provide user/password system preferences for an automatic login, like you can for the self-checkout (SCO) counterpart. Our use case is the following: we are already using the SCO module with automatic login of the dedicated SCO patron, and our actual patrons identify themselves via their cardnumber. While they can obviously check in their books via the SCO module, we'd like to streamline the process such that they don't have to login with their cardnumber in order to simply return a book. The SCI module would be ideal for this but, effectively, it can't be used on the same terminal as switching between the modules currently requires a manual login of the dedicated SCI patron. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
