The topic of end-of-year processing has come up regularly in the koha-us Acquisitions SIG. Librarians would like to have a way to order things for the next year when still in the current year and have the items showing up on the next year's budget. Example: our library has a fiscal year that goes from Oct 1 to Sept 30. A popular book will release October 15. We want to order the book in August. We would like to have the item ordered on the new fiscal year starting October. How do we do that? I have attached a Word document that more fully explains the issue and I have suggested a solution that I think will work for both EDI and non-EDI vendors. To recreate: 1. Go to a patron's account 2. Make sure they have an email address in their account 3. Go to their Accounting tab 4. Create a manual invoice 5. Pay the fee 6. Go to the Transactions tab and click the Receipt button --> There should be two options: Print and Email --> Note that the options are slightly misaligned (the Print is slightly more to the left) 7. If we do have a "trivial" update of the biblio (lines 1787ff), see below, we index each biblio on its own: if ( !$update && $reindex_if_needed && $syspref_include_see_from ) { my $indexer = Koha::SearchEngine::Indexer->new( { index => $Koha::SearchEngine::BIBLIOS_INDEX } ); $indexer->index_records( $biblio->biblionumber, "specialUpdate", "biblioserver" ); } This will create one background job per biblio. But we could easily just create on background job for all those modifications, which should improve performance. I'm proposing a very small change, where instead of calling indexer->index_records, we push $biblio->biblionumber on an array. And after looping through all the biblios, we create one index job using that array.
