This creates an annoyance for libraries where most of the labels they print use other selections. It'd be helpful to have some mechanism to make those dropdowns default to something else. Prior to bug 21073 this was mostly possible by enabling plugins in the config but making the plugin path read only to the apache user. In this way users could not upload new plugins, but support providers could add plugins at the users request. This did have the caveat that 'install', 'update' and 'remove' routines in the plugin would not be called. I fixed it modifying kohastructure.sql, changing borrower_modifications structure (remove default value of changed_fields) There is another solution? Create an Adult Patron 2. Create a New Patron - choosing a Child category 3. Add Surname, First Name, search for Guarantor in database- choose Guarantor. 4. Guarantor's address does not populate for Child Account. The way to do this which does work: 1. Create an Adult Patron 2. Click Add Child from Adult Patron's form. 3. Add surname, First name of Child 4. See the Guarantor's address is populated already. For instance the system preference 'AcqCreateItem' has the text Create an item when [*] This is only the default behavior, and can be changed per-basket. Where [*] is a drop down containing one of the values. - placing an order. - receiving an order. - cataloging the record. A simple copy and paste of the 'Value' box gives "Create an item when This is only the default behavior, and can be changed per-basket."; there's no way to copy the values in the drop down. I would be nice to have a 'copy to clipboard' button that would copy the 'preference' and 'value' fields. For instance if AcqCreateItem was set to 'placing an order', the following text would be placed in the copy/paste buffer: AcqCreateItem: Create an item when [placing an order.] This is only the default behavior, and can be changed per-basket.
