To ensure backward compatibility, the older signature was maintained but marked as deprecated, with warnings logged when it is used. The purpose of this bug is to complete the deprecation cycle by removing the code that handles the older style syntax and the associated deprecation warnings. This will involve: Removing the compatibility code that checks for and handles the old hook signature (without the payload key). Removing the Koha::Logger warnings that are triggered when the old signature is detected. Updating any relevant documentation to reflect that only the new signature is supported. This will help to clean up the codebase, reduce complexity, and ensure that all plugins are using the modern, consistent hook signature. Enable hold cancellation requests from the OPAC i. Go to Administration > Circulation and Fines rules ii. In the "Default waiting hold cancellation policy" section, add the rule: All / All / Yes 2. Place at least two holds for pickup at the logged-in library (for ease of testing, place both holds for the same patron) 3. Check in items for both holds and confirm to set holds to Waiting 4. Log into the OPAC as the patron from step 2 5. Go to the patron's holds tab and request cancellation for both holds 6. We update our Koha::Object(s) classes to pass back $result and propose a signature for class selection with resultsets. This allows for subclassing of an object based on a field in a shared table so one can keep methods grouped for their tasks more easily. Example use cases are (S)FTP where we want to store the basic transport details in one table and then dynamically load the right set of transport protocol specific methods based on the transport type. This has led to code duplication across multiple ILL plugins (Rapido, INNReach, SLNP) that all implement identical add_or_update_attributes() methods, and forces the Standard backend to use error-prone patterns when managing request metadata. The proposed `add_or_update_attributes()` method in Koha::ILL::Request would provide a safe, efficient way to add new attributes or update existing ones in a single operation, eliminating duplicate key errors and reducing code duplication. This enhancement would immediately benefit the Standard backend (which currently as 6+ locations using the problematic pattern), allow existing plugins to remove their custom implementations, improve performance by only updating attributes when values actually change, and provide a cleaner API for all ILL backend developers.
