On the other hand, MARC21 has them hardcoded in `C4::Heading::MARC21`. This has the side effect of not letting the linker tools honor the linking configuration from the frameworks. For example, if you define your own thesaurus `CEPAL_TOPIC` which you maintain with your own tools/process, and link it to `650$a`, running the linker will still look for `TOPIC_TERM` yielding bad results. We should have an implementation that: * Allows opting in to a UNIMARC-like behavior * Has a fallback mechanism for not-configured mappings so we wouldn't expect behavior change besides the frameworks-defined mappings * It doesn't reinvent the wheel on an old library -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. This bug would preload these vocabularies for new instances of Koha. There are two AV categories per field, one for the human-readable term ($a) and one for a short code ($b). I made the lib/lib_opac text for the codes the term they represent, so one does not have to memorize the meanings of the codes. I do not see any instance of an authorized value being connected with a MARC field during installation (looking in installer/data/mysql/en/marcflavour/marc21/mandatory/marc21_framework_DEFAULT.yml where all the authorised_value properties are empty) so I have not done so with these either. That seems reasonable; some libraries may want to use different terms. But the RDA vocabs are widely used and stable, so including them as an option for catalogers is worthwhile. However, If I click on "more options" and select a specific item with limited transfers, I can still select any pickup location available for the biblio. This leads to a user being able to select a pickup location and be denied the hold request only after confirmation, and then have to restart again (without knowing which libraries will work). I think that can lead to some frustration for users. To replicate: -Make sure library is using the real-time holds queue. -Create a group hold with multiple items available at one or more libraries. -Note that all available titles show on the holds queue(s) (see bug 42054). -Check an item in to satisfy the hold group. -Re-run the holds queue(s), and note that the other items from the group hold still show. The queue only appears to rebuild once the item that filled the hold is checked out. If a library checks one of the other items from the group in after the hold has been filled, the later item(s) won't trigger.
