Those are both not very common in Germany and possibly other countries. A lot of our libraries use their own custom classification schemes so the call number splitting is something that should be individually configurable. One option would be using a regex expression, that can be set in the layout additional to the standard splitting offered by the checkbox. Maybe an option to type, but that might be questionable. Barcode on camera would be better. It would be great if a patron could grab a book and check it out. Barring any issues with the checkout (fines/overdues/holds, etc), it could be a quick in and out scenario for patrons. This feature will create a new field in the items table: checkin_alert, to allow librarians to have arbitrary alerts displaying at checkin. These alerts will be printable.
