koha-3.00.00 make fails

Hi all, I have downloaded http://download.koha.org/koha-3.00.00.tar.gz and began installing it on Debian/etch (in a Linux vserver environment). 0. FINE: cd koha-3.00.00 1. FINE: perl Makefile.PL 2. FAIL: make : : : Manifying blib/man3/C4::UploadedFile.3pm Manifying blib/man3/C4::BackgroundJob.3pm Manifying blib/man3/opac::opac-dictionary.3pm Manifying blib/man3/serials::member-search.3pm /usr/bin/perl "-Iblib/arch" "-Iblib/lib" fix-perl-path.PL blib /usr/bin/perl "-Iblib/arch" "-Iblib/lib" rewrite-config.PL blib/KOHA_CONF_DIR/koha-conf.xml Bad arg length for Socket::inet_ntoa, length is 0, should be 4 at rewrite-config.PL line 67. make: *** [blib/KOHA_CONF_DIR/koha-conf.xml] Error 255 Any ideas what went wrong and how to fix? Aside: there were a couple of other problems with this "out of the box" debian based install of Koha 3.0 which had to be fixed along the way, e.g. seven missing perl modules and libgd not found. system preference question (anonymous preferences)

There are 2 system preferences in my most recent version of HEAD: - AnonSuggestions -- Set to anonymous borrowernumber to enable Anonymous suggestions - AnonymousPatron -- Set the identifier (borrowernumber) of the 'Mister anonymous' patron. Used for Suggestion and reading history privacy Does this mean that AnonSuggestions is not used? I personally think we need both and that Anon should be for suggestions and AnonymousPatron for reading history. Can someone please clarify these for me? Thanks Nicole

Bug assignees - call for volunteers

Hi, The current list of default assignees for bug categories is here: http://wiki.koha.org/doku.php?id=en:development:bug_default_assignees I am issuing a call for module experts to volunteer to be default assignees, and for existing assignees to confirm their willingness and availability to investigate, fix, and delegate bugs. By the time of the next general meeting (3 March 2010 at 19:00 UTC+0), please reply to this thread and signal if: * you want to be or remain as assignee for a component * you no longer want to be an assignee * you want to be added to the default CC list for a component In particular, one of the things we should figure out by the time of the meeting is which components do not have anybody actively interested in being assignee. I'm the default assignee for a lot of these, and would dearly like this to change. The components I'm specifically interested in remaining assignee for are: Architecture, internals, and plumbing Cataloging MARC Authority data support MARC Bibliographic data support MARC Bibliographic record staging/import Searching Z39.50 / SRU / OpenSearch Servers As a reminder, anybody who wants to work on a bug should feel free to do so, particularly if the bug's status hasn't been changed to 'assigned' - in other words, I don't think it should be the role of the bug assignees to have to explicitly fix or delegate every single bug in their components, just to watch over the component as a whole and ensure that important bugs do get addressed. Biblio table

Hello all, one more question, I'm trying to understand the purpose of the follwoing tables and how they comunicate : 1. Biblio 2. BiblioItems 3. Items It's confusing, because first I though BiblioItems table is for books only, but when i added a CD/DVD item it was entered in the BiblioItems. but not added to the items table until I add another Item within this CD/DVD.. Dear Koha developers, I would like to know about how to convert MS-SQL database of catalog into Koha database and others. I don't following issues; - existed Bar codes of multi-copies of one book in library and branch libraries that which field of Koha-mysql. which way best solutions or check lists to import to koha database - Anyone experiece about how to create or best way Koha call numbers for books and other collections. Hello all, I have a question mostly asked by each librarian or related staff that is there support of any other database in koha? If someone want to use Oracle or SQL Server instead of MySQL,in Koha is it possible? Thanks.
