Status of Debian and Koha

Hi, I'm pleased to announce that most of Koha dependencies (as listed in Makefile.PL) are present and up-to-date in Debian. The only exceptions are: * XML::RSS: the package libxml-rss-perl is outdated but its maintainer has just accepted that the package will be maintained by the Debian Perl Group. So it should be ok very soon. * Zebra [and Koha itself]: they will need more work According to a recent post on this list, zebra seems to require a more recent version of ZOOM (or at least of libyaz) than the one currently in Debian: Makefile.PL (from Koha) requires ZOOM >= 1.16 that works with libyaz2 2.1.48. Both ZOOM 1.16 and libyaz2 2.1.48 are on my webpage and in Debian experimental. But newer versions seem to be required. There is good hope here again that we will be able to upload an up-to-date yaz package in a few weeks. Next step: packaging zebra and Koha... Koha.org-based Listserve

Hi gang, Henri-Damien visited the US this week for the Code4libCon conference in Portland and we had a chance to touch base for a few hours. One of the topics we discussed was the need that's arising for additional Koha mailing lists, particularly for non-English users of Koha. I've had several requests now from other language communities for a language-specific list that the community provides to that language community. BibLibre has graciously offered to host a Mailman installation for such lists, so the question arises, what domain shall we use? For instance, we could have lists.koha.org, with all of our community mailing lists (e.g., koha-devel(a)lists.koha.org) ... or we could stick with the simpler convention koha-devel(a)koha.org. On IRC, Paul made a good point that it's useful to distinguish between user accounts (ie, patches) and lists (ie, koha-devel). Any other opinions? Script to delete Biblio if no corresponding items

Hi All Can anyone please give me an indication how to delete a Biblio if there are no items attached? I actually first want to delete an item according the Barcode, and then delete the Biblio if empty. I will appreciate any help.

Call number handling in 3.0

As far as I can tell, call number handling is generally broken in 3.0, with no realy standard for how to display call numbers. Some templates use , some use , some use . Hi all, The topic: 'ReservesNeedReturns' preference. I thought this referred to the 'warning' message Koha throws if I try to check out a book to Edna that is on reserve for Tina (for instance). Beta version of Koha 3.0

Hello! It was announced, that the string freeze for the beta version of Koha 3.0 should be 1. february, and the limit for the final release 1. march. The last date is drawing nearer, but I can not see any announcement on the beta version, and http://koha.org/ only shows the alpha version. Is there a delay? If yes, when will it be released? Will then the limit for the translators also change, then, since we have not had the possibility to test the beta version :-/ Best regards Axel Bojer

globalDueDate sys preference

Hi all, The topic is the 'globalDueDate' system preference The field (which requires that the user enter a date) is a free text field. What date format is expected here? ISO?
