How to make self-referential URLs in Koha

Hi all, With some recent code, I've been using creating self-referential URL in Koha using CGI->url(), and passing it as a value. With CGI, the URL is correct (ie starting with /cgi-bin/koha). With Plack, it's not, because the OPAC is mounted as "/opac". I worked around this by rewriting the self-referential URL in my code, but I was wondering if anyone else had any thoughts on this. I've noticed there are a few places in Koha where we use CGI->url() and I'm guessing we may have unexpected bugs in Plack-enabled Koha as a result. Of course, one workaround would be to have /opac and /intranet aliases or URL rewriting in Apache, so that the self-referential URLs created by Plack still end up resolving. I wonder if that's the easiest path forward. In the past, I have wondered if we could get rid of "/cgi-bin/koha" as a path prefix all together (especially as cgi-bin scares security tools), but it's so deeply embedded in Koha at this point that it seems a huge task to replace it. Embed see-from headings (authorities) into bibliographic records at OAI repository level

Hi all, An enhancement idea : It could be interesting to enrich the bibliographic records exposed in OAI with see-from headings, this would allow users who use koha with a discovery tool to be able to manage, normalize and index some authorities data ? This is something that could be done directly in C4::Biblio::GetMarcBiblio following the same method used for embedding items. We could use an optional parameter like embed_items (embed_seefromheading) and a function similar to C4::Biblio::EmbedItemsInMarcBiblio by reusing what was made for zebra with EmbedSeeFromHeadings (bug #7417 <https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=7417>). Why is "branchcode" nullable for "reserves" table?

Hi all, Does anyone know why "branchcode" is nullable for the "reserves" table? I'm occasionally finding I have reserves with a null branchcode, and it causes all kinds of problems. Unfortunately, I can't figure out how these reserves are being created, as the UI should be preventing this from happening. I've looked at the logs and tried to reproduce the problem myself and can't do it. But the action_logs and the database itself confirms that there are reserves being created with null branchcodes at times. If the database had branchcode as a NOT NULL column, we wouldn't have this problem. So I'm curious why we haven't done that. thoughts anyone? labels/label-item-search.pl hardcode queries that only work with Zebra

Hello all! Seems I'm diving into ES these days. We have an issue with labels/label-item-search.pl which uses the search engine to find items, but the code hardcodes (acqdate,ge:2022-02-17) Which the ES's build_query_compat() method doesn't handle. ES's index is date-of-acquisition. The right way to solve this would be to fix the query parser, but that's a tall task for me. Another way would be for me to cheat, if only I knew what form the proper query would look like in ES. Finally, it seems to me this could be done using database queries, much simpler. Input, comments and suggestions welcomed. Philippe

Hi Philippe, Your second query appears to be correct. Is it possible that one of the "expropriation" records is suppressed in the the OPAC? Try searching for "title:expropriation AND suppress:true" (without QueryAutoTruncate). It's possible to automatically add parentheses to both the query and the limits by editing the Koha/SearchEngine/Elasticsearch/QueryBuilder.pm file. After "$search_param_query_str = join( ' ', $self->_create_query_string(@search_params) );" add: if ($search_param_query_str) { $search_param_query_str = "($search_param_query_str)"; } my $search_param_limits_str = $self->_join_queries( $self->_convert_index_strings(@$limits) ); if ($search_param_limits_str) { $search_param_limits_str = "($search_param_limits_str)"; } And then change the "$query_str" to: $query_str = join( ' AND ', $search_param_query_str || (), $search_param_limits_str || () ); Hopefully that will produce the correct results.
