It's about the same idea I alread use on my Koha demo installation to prevent some wise guys to change the password of the supreuser so they have the whole installation for themselves - there I reset the password every minute to the original one every minute. As Alex Buckley pointed out in mailinglist "koha-devel" the error is probably fixed with https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=36822 in Koha 24.05.06. Kia ora koutou, We're very happy to announce that the call for presentations for KohaCon25 is now open! As Koha returns to Aotearoa for its 25th birthday, we're keen to hear your stories and insights for both our conference sessions and working together days. ## Te Kaupapa | Theme Our theme is "Coming Home" as we celebrate a quarter-century of Koha. We're particularly interested in presentations that: - Share success stories from your Koha journey - Highlight how Koha has grown and evolved since its beginnings in Horowhenua - Showcase innovative ways libraries are using Koha - Reflect on the impact of open source in libraries - Look towards the next 25 years of Koha ## Conference Days (17-19 November) We welcome presentations ranging from 15 minutes to 1 hour, including: - Feature showcases - Case studies - Community stories - Future visions - Lightning talks ## Working Together Days (21-23 November) We're seeking workshop proposals for our hands-on sessions, such as: - Technical workshops - Development sprints - Documentation improvements - Training sessions - Community initiatives - Collaborative problem-solving ## Ngā Kōrero | Presentation Details - All presentations will be in-person at Te Whanganui-a-Tara | Wellington - Sessions will be live-streamed for our global whānau - When submitting, please indicate your preferred time length and session type ## Tukua Mai | How to Submit Submit your proposal through our online form at https://cfp.kohacon.org/forms/kohacon25-talks-submission-lfe0lb by 1 March 2025. Community Sprint: Tidy the whole codebase

Hi all, a lot of you probably already noticed that we pushed the bugs and patches related to: <https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=38664> Bug 38664 - Tidy the whole codebase We still have a bit of tidy-up to do for the tidy, but the big part is done. Thanks to everyone who worked on this and helped testing in order to make this happen! Big changes can be hard, but we can make them happen if we focus and work together. If you have patches waiting in RM queue: I'll try to rebase them myself. If they applied before the big push, this should not be an issue. If you need to rebase any of your work, there is a great script to help you with this: misc/devel/auto_rebase.pl More detailed instructions on how to use it have been documented in the 'Changelog' channel. If you run into any problems, please let us know. Please make sure you are using latest koha-testing-docker and docker images. For some more background: At the beginning of the cycle we decided on 3 community sprint projects that have been advertised on the wiki and discussed in development meetings. Our next sprint project is about improving the modal logic in Koha, also trying to figure out some best practices to standardize user interaction more. Support Code 128 for barcodes

Hi all!! A library uses Code 128B <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Code_128> for its material barcodes, with the great ByWater's Label Maker <https://github.com/bywatersolutions/koha-plugin-label-maker> plugin. For the SVG image generation, we were using barcode.tec-it.com <https://barcode.tec-it.com/barcode.ashx?data=>, but they start reducing their usage limits, so I look back to Koha capabilities. As we know, Koha doesn't support Code128B <https://github.com/Koha-Community/Koha/blob/main/svc/barcode#L92>. It seems the libbarcode-code128-perl <https://metacpan.org/release/Barcode-Code128> dependency package is used only for OPACVirtualCardBarcode, where is a viable option. I could generate PNG barcodes by naively tweaking `svc/barcode`: use Barcode::Code128; my %type_mapping = ( Code128b => 1, ); eval { if ( $type eq "Code128b") { my $code = new Barcode::Code128; $code->option("height", $height); $code->option("show_text", !$notext); $code->option("border", 0); $code->option("transparent_text", 1); $code->option("scale", 4); $code->option("font_align", "center"); $image = $code->png($barcode); } }; And ./cgi-bin/koha/svc/barcode?barcode=3721M&type=Code128b, but for some reason it fails (error 500) with some barcodes. Before I file a bug and maybe trying with JsBarcode or even Jquery.. there is something I'm missing? Code 128 is not so un popular. Why is not supported? Also, a `format` parameter would be great, for a future SVG and stretch without loosing any quality. Regards, Pablo
