Kia ora, greetings -- from the past, some of you will remember me. Nut shell : we have been running (charitable library, non lending) Koha catalogue since 2011 (v. 3.08.24 since July 2015). Rock solid until we got overwhelmed by DDoS and/or AI bots. Thermal protection on the Koha server (apache2 proxied from nginx) failed, literal meltdown. Built a new server (12 core intel CPU, 64G memory, Ubuntu 14.04 LTS security mods - I know, please don't flame me), reinstalled from tar and backup. Apparently a dead-ringer copy of what we had for over a decade. Public server perfect <https://opac.navalmarinearchive.com>. Mysql, Zebra, Pazpar have reconstituted over a hundred thousand biblios and items - no discernible errors, all public users happy (except hackers and AI bots mitigated at front end nginx.) But ... Koha admin (intranet) works fine for everything (items, reports, logs, "about"...) EXCEPT Biblios won't edit nor write new (manual input, nor z3950) records. ERROR : Can't call method "fields" on an undefined value at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Biblio.pm line 2483. 2482 # traverse through record 2483 MARCFIELD: foreach my $field ( $record->fields() ) { 2484 my $tag = $field->tag(); if elsif .... We've spent nearly a week, finding minor variations in backups of Biblio.pm (occasional line renumbering and developers' signatures), nothing from a Perl logic perspective. We've done the obvious "diff's", permissions, ownerships, restarts, reboots, koha_perl_deps.pl, SAX parser, perl modules, environment. It's got to be something blazingly simple, after a decade of superb Koha service. Any and all assistance in saving my sanity would be truly appreciated, Thanks and warmest regards, Paul

Koha/Okta OIDC configuration

Kia ora/Hello Koha community, Have any other Koha libraries in the community successfully configured Okta as an Identity provider in Koha? We have a Koha library, running Koha 24.11. If their patrons: * 1) Log into Koha via Okta. * 2) Click the local Koha logout. * 3) Then try to log back into Koha they receive a 'wrong_csrf_token' error. We are working our way through their configurations and would really appreciate hearing if others have encountered a similar problem? Similarly, if you're using Okta successfully, and your users don't encounter this workflow, we would love to hear: Q1) Have you configured Okta, in your Koha Identity Provider, to use the OAuth or OIDC protocol? Q2) If using the OIDC protocol, what have you set as your well_known_url? Q3) Are there any tips, or tricks, you have from setting up the Okta configuration side of things? For example a Okta 'sign-out redirect URIs'? Any help much appreciated. Thanks, Alex

Kia ora, Quick one - we're 11 weeks out from Kohacon25 in Wellington and I wanted to make sure you knew what's happening. The basics: 17-23 November 2025, Wellington The 25th birthday celebration of Koha Conference registration: https://kohacon25-1.lilregie.com/ Programme: https://2025.kohacon.org/schedule/ Why this one's different: This isn't just another Koha conference. It's the first time we've been back to Aotearoa since Kohacon20 (which was pandemic-limited), and frankly, it feels significant. We're starting with a proper pōwhiri at Te Herenga Waka Marae, we've got brilliant keynotes on Indigenous AI and digital sovereignty, and yes - there's a hāngi lunch planned. The programme runs through to working together days where we actually get stuff done. Numbers reality check: We'd love to hit 100+ to make this the celebration it deserves to be. If you've been thinking about it, now's the time. Wellington in November is lovely, the venue's sorted (VUW lecture theatre) and attendance is free! One ask: If you know someone who should be there, forward this on. Our community's always been about sharing knowledge and strengthening connections.
