How to get CAS based Single Sign On working?

Hi All, I have a situation where we have a main website based on Joomla. This Joomla site uses CAS to authenticate users. We would like users ( who have already logged in to the Joomla site via CAS) to be able to follow a link to Koha site and be logged in automatically ( e.g. Single Sign On ). I have got simple CAS ( not proxy CAS ) working with Koha ( version 3.2.6 ) using the same CAS server as used by Joomla site. Still when I login to Joomla site with CAS, and then go to Koha and click on login and follow the CAS login link, I am asked to fill up CAS login information again. How can this be avoided by using CAS SSO? I have read through http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/SSO_CAS_improvements and am confused by the statement "Note: simple sso cas support (no proxy) has been done already by biblibre, is in testing and should be released in Koha 3.2" in there. Does this statement mean that SSO is possible with simple CAS? If yes how to set it up? If not, I have also read through bugs 6012, 5630 and the CAS Proxy examples. Frankly I haven't been able to figure out how I can achieve the above required functionality based on all the reading. Any help is much appreciated.. Another related query is, Is it possible to automatically create users in Koha once they have authenticated with CAS? koha-3.00.00 make fails

Hi all, I have downloaded http://download.koha.org/koha-3.00.00.tar.gz and began installing it on Debian/etch (in a Linux vserver environment). 0. FINE: cd koha-3.00.00 1. FINE: perl Makefile.PL 2. Aside: there were a couple of other problems with this "out of the box" debian based install of Koha 3.0 which had to be fixed along the way, e.g. seven missing perl modules and libgd not found. Linking bibs to authorities

Hi. I mentioned we also have a problem with linking bibs to authorities. We use authorities and want to link them to bibs. Over previous versions of Koha this has sometimes worked quite well. However on a few systems we have at version 3.12 it seems that the Zebra search into the authorities (used by link_bib_to_authorities) is returning all terms that contain any of the words in the bib field. So if the linkage is set to "default" then most authority searches will return multiple answers which means they do not link. If the linkage syspref is set to first or last then most of the bibs will link to the wrong authority as it is pot luck which will be first (or last) of the many authorities found by searching all the words ORed together. The only terms that will link are single-word authorities that are not used in any other authorities. If anyone has any pointers or knows how to get round or over this problem I would love to hear from you. More details on request... We are using Zebra dom indexing and icu chains and are using Koha 3.12 on Debian. We are not yet using QueryParser. Dear Community, I have got this trouble in koha-3.12.03 : Error: Can't call method "raw" on an undefined value at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Search.pm line 490. It was working nice when I installed, but after few weeks when I search I got that error. To solve this problem I upgraded it on koha 3.12.04.Still the problem remains. How it can be solved pls. Seeking new community newsletter editor

Hi, A combination of changing work duties and our library preparing to migrate away from Koha has made it increasingly challenging for me to dedicate time to editing the newsletter. So, after tipping my hand in the July newsletter, I'm now formally and sadly announcing my resignation as community newsletter editor effective December 31, or sooner if a new editor steps forth and takes over before then. Preparing the newsletter requires about 4-8 hours a month. I've found it to be an excellent way to stay informed about the community and to make great connections with Koha folks. I'd be happy to share my list of RSS feeds and other news sources with the next editor, as well as to work with that person during a transition period. Test Coverage

Hi All Tomorrow is Kenza's last day at Biblibre, and I wanted to thank her for all the work she had done Below are the covergage statistics, the top numbers are from before her first commit, the bottom ones are from after. stmt bran cond sub total Total 43.1 17.3 14.3 68.7 37.6 Total 45.7 18.2 14.6 70.5 39.8 So you can see she has increased total test coverage by 2.2 % Now in a code base of hundreds of thousands of lines, that is a big big increase. Database-dependent Tests

Hi all: This might be obvious to many but I just noticed that MySQL's "Auto Increment" still increases when using the autocommit = 0 / rollback() transaction method of handling database dependent tests, at least with my set up. So if you wonder why your new ID numbers are significantly higher than it seems they should be, that would probably explain why. Hi all, time is flying by - we are already only a bit more than a month away from feature freeze and there is a lot of work to be done. I would like to call for a QA team IRC meeting to try and work out how we can coordinate and discuss general QA questions and topics. Greetings, Putting aside the arguments for a live DVD, a couple good points have been made or implied, and probably should be reiterated: 1) A 3.12.0 Live DVD doesn't constitute being part of the current team (3.12.3). 2) Cross posting to koha and koha-devel is typically a bad idea. 3) The effort to dump a single DVD every 6 or months does not compare to the effort put in by the release manager nor even the release maintainers. 4) You can't get the title once and expect it forever. You showed up on IRC once long ago, but don't visit. I have not seen you posting questions or answers in either the koha or koha-devel mailing lists. To be honest, VKV, how can you desire to be part of the community when the community doesn't see you as active? If the role of Live DVD Manager/Maintainer is to be kept, and there are hints at dumping it because the required effort is not being put forth, I would expect (at least): - Make a Live DVD iso no later than a week after every package release at latest. It is usually released within a week of the tarballs. - Be active on the IRC channel to stay aware of bugs and issues that are popping around. If you were on IRC, you could ask eythian yourself if the packages were ready. - Be active on the Koha mailing lists answering questions and even asking some occasionally. I'm sure others could chime in requirements. Given the general dislike of a Live DVD, because of the abuses that can (and most likely will) occur (running a Live DVD in a production system), you are going to have to work to earn the respect and title. You haven't been doing that, as far as I can tell. I would also like to point out that this title has been given to someone else for 3.14. http://wiki.koha-community.org/w/index.php?title=Roles_for_3.14 However, they too have been as poorly active as you. That is probably why they are in the release notes. Your term ended with the release of 3.12.0.
