trying to understand zebra results

Hello all! Here at PBC, I'm in the process of trying to relink all of our biblios to the right authority files. Somehow, they were an /incredible/ mess. I've created the authority records okay, but when trying to run link_bibs_to_authorities.pl, it links them to the wrong places. Investigating, it seems like zebra isn't giving the right search results back. I can confirm this in yaz-client using the query that is created by koha. Searching for "Bentley, Peter, Ed." returns 4 results, only two of which are close. Actually, the record I'm trying to match is "Bentley, Peter, (Ed.)" - the last option. Interestingly enough, if I search for "Bentley, 3432531531532513985735981<anything at all here>" it will also show me the same four results. So does searching for "Bentley 513513531513515151". But searching for "Bentleyr435435151551251" shows no results, as I would expect. Am afraid I'm stumped here. PQF seems quite horrendously confusing. What do the numbers mean, in what context etc. Tried reading the indexdata manual, and still have no clue! Can anyone shed any light? New script offered: update_framework_code

Hi everyone, I've been trying to tidy up our data, and found that somehow all of the frameworks for biblios were rest to "Default". This script runs through all the biblios and tries to match 942c (item type) to framework codes. There's an associative array in the script that would have to be edited depending on what one's frameworks/mappings are. Just thought I'd share - in case it's of use to anyone. Nick

Hi everyone, Not sure if this would be of any use to anyone, but I've found it useful, so wanted to share. Basically, this script runs through and unlinks biblios from authority records. There's a list of fields in there, and any subfield 9 data is simply deleted.. Nick

Installing Koha 16.x on Debian 8.5

I am trying to reinstate our library after upgrading server to Debian 8.5 with Plesk 12.5 panel, I follow the instruction provided here https://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Koha_on_Debian I have done the steps, but Install the Database If you are planning to run MySQL on the same server that Koha is on, then run: $ sudo apt-get install mysql-server I am assuming that we have already have mySQL server so I do not need this. When I run this # sudo koha-create --create-db library I get User library-koha already exists. I have not created user yet and this is a fresh install. I do not see /etc/apache2/sites-enabled/*library*.conf and I do not see /etc/koha/sites/library/koha-conf.xml Is there any solution to this please? How can I totally remove Koha and do a fresh start?
