Hi all, There was a lot of miscommunication and not reading comments etc. on the last security fixes. I forgot to add the keyword for the backports. I did write it on the report and also added a diff. But these were just ignored. Hopefully, we do better next time. To fix 21.11 I added three patches now on 31908. They are meant only for 21.11. Note that 21.05 is NOT a target for backporting here. Thanks, Marcel

using jenkins and security branches

hi folks i have a working solution to using private/hidden 'security' builds to jenkins this would allow us to test security repos with our CI for the curious, the workflow uses the 'Role-based Authorization Strategy' plugin https://plugins.jenkins.io/role-strategy/ we should do some testing and take a backup, before completing the config cheers, Mason 🍄

KTD, permissions and stuff

Hi all, after several comments from people struggling with permissions, yarn build, etc; I've went ahead and tweaked the new `ktd` command so the default behavior is to jump into the container, on the instance user. i.e. # this command will put you in what we traditionally call 'kshell' ktd --shell # and this command will put you in a root shell as before ktd --root --shell In addition to this, the instance user has been granted (in newer images) sudo permissions (passwordless) and some of the traditional 'root' aliases have been copied into its profile. There's probably some tidy to be done, but this is a start. The README has been adjusted a bit, please help tidying it until we decide if we keep the old docs. Upgrading bugs.koha-community.org (plus others)

Hi All The linode that bugs, dashboard, splitter, download, plus the bots run on needs an OS upgrade. I am about to snapshot it and attempt that now. The server may or may not go down for various parts of the upgrade. I will let you know when it has been completed of I have to rollback. Chris

Koha versions 22.11.01, 22.05.08, 21.11.15 and 21.05.22 released

Hi again, The problem was with the interaction of devscripts and libtest-dbix-class-perl. They have mutually incompatible dependencies. (Well, a devscript recommendation and a libtest-dbix-class-perl dependency.) I removed libtest-dbix-class-perl from my control file and now I'm fine. Should be OK without a test library. Doubt this will affect other people using the traditional "debian/build-git-snapshot" method or using pbuilder some other way. I use regular ol' debuild within a Docker container, so that's why devscripts is conflicting. debian/control out of date in master

Hi all, It looks like debian/control is out of date in master. I know that we update it from debian/control.in using debian/update-control when the official packages are made, but why don't we run that as part of tagged releases? It seems to me like it would make sense to have a stable debian/control for each tagged released. In the process of trying to update debian/control in koha-testing-docker and it's a long process (due to the use of apt-file). What do folk think? Hi :) The things to do are: - making the wikipage using the template - make an announcement email using past ones - send reminders - @all: anything else? The aim is to start the bid this month so proposals that start early 2024 have time to plan. borrower_message_preference_id reaches limit - quickfix?

Kia ora and happy new year, Koha! Yesterday I reported this bug: Bug 32556 - borrower_message_preference_id reaches limit https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=32556 Has anyone else run into this, and found a quickfix that works? I tried dumping the database, changing the id columns from INT to BIGINT, but got a foreign key error when loading the database back in. I have tried to Google this problem, and several solutions suggest turning off foreign key checks temporarily. How risky would that be? Best regaqrds, Magnus Enger Libriotech AS
