Helper/Static methods for objects

Hi All, On two different bugs we have run into similar issues where a method was needed that didn't use the object directly. German language (de-DE) no more shown after update to Koha 21.05.01

Hi We were on Debian GNU/Linux 9 with Koha 19.11.00, our configured language was german (de-DE). Today we updated first to Debian GNU/Linux 10, then to Koha 21.05.01. At the end of the update it said: Upgrade to 21.05.01.003 done [19:19:38]: Koha 21.05.01 release Error: the selected language is already installed. Try --update if you want to re-install it. ERROR: an error was found when updating 'de-DE' translations. Please manually run 'koha-translate --update de-DE'. Run man koha-translate for more options. Now our language German (de-DE) is gone, instead only English (en) is there. The Koha system preferences "language" und "OPACLanguages" just show "English" but these checkboxes are not even checked. German is not there anymore. I tried to run "koha-translate" with various options but it didn't help: # koha-translate --list de-DE # koha-translate --update de-DE Error: the selected language is already installed. Try --update if you want to re-install it. # koha-translate --remove de-DE # koha-translate --list de-DE # koha-translate --install de-DE Error: the selected language is already installed. Try --update if you want to re-install it. When trying to use option "--dev" the program tries to access a non-existing directory called "koha-tmpl". # koha-translate --list de-DE --dev ndz ls: cannot access '/usr/share/koha/koha-tmpl/opac-tmpl/bootstrap/': No such file or directory How can we regain the German language? Time to translate: string freeze to prepare Koha 20.05.14 has begun

Hi, saluton, hola, bonjour, String freeze is into effect as of now for the 20.05.x maintenance branch. The minor release is scheduled for around the 23th. This means it's the right time to head over to the translation platform: https://translate.koha-community.org/projects/ Reminder: if you add or change a translation in version 20.05, then you must also copy it to 20.11 and 21.05. Tiny bug in QohA/File/Template.pm for template dir (OPAC) sub check_valid_template $template_dir = File::Spec->rel2abs("koha-tmpl/$interface/prog/en/modules"); This is wrong, but the variable is no longer used. Can be removed.

Next hackfests in Marseille

Hello all, A quick announcement: we have decided to have a fixed date for next biblibre meetings, one of them being the hackfest. So, in the coming years, the hackfest in Marseille will be the 4th week of March. Next year: march 28th - april 1st. PS : it's not an april fool PS2: yes, I'm optimistic, we will be able to travel again in 2022 ! pull latest koha-testing-docker-images (Add new lib directory)

(This is a message from last week that didn't reach the list) Hi, I've just pushed bug 28489 that is adding a new "lib" directory. It needs to be added to the apache config, and new koha-testing-docker images have been published. The error: couldn't load CGI::Session::Serialize::yamlxs: Can't locate CGI/Session/Serialize/yamlxs.pm in @INC (you may need to install the CGI::Session::Serialize::yamlxs module) The KTD solution: `docker-compose pull` A workaround (if you are not using ktd): In your apache config, add the lib directory: SetEnv PERL5LIB "/kohadevbox/koha:/kohadevbox/koha/lib" That's not enough, for the CLI scripts (and tests), you will need to adjust PERL5LIB as well In koha-testing-docker, edit .env and replace the PERL5LIB line with: PERL5LIB=/kohadevbox/koha:/kohadevbox/koha/lib:/kohadevbox/qa-test-tools Cheers, Jonathan
