koha-testing-docker and plugins

I've been struggling for a couple of days with getting plugins to work with koha-testing-docker. I'm using the latest Koha source and koha-testing-docker images, I started the container with the "ku" alias, and it's running correctly. Plugins are enabled in koha-conf.xml; here are the relevant lines: <pluginsdir>/var/lib/koha/kohadev/plugins</pluginsdir>   <enable_plugins>1</enable_plugins> But when I log into the Koha staff client using the koha user, which is a superlibrarian, I don't see "Tool plugins" under the "Additional tools" heading on the Tools page. I'm not familiar with debugging Perl; my experience is from years of using GDB with C/C++. The README for koha-testing-docker has only the barest hints about debugging. Before I resort to debugging with print statements (or system("echo something >>/tmp/junk")), is there a better way for me to figure out what's wrong here? -- To any truly impartial person, it would be obvious that I'm always right. --Ashleigh Brilliant

Move of the git server

Hi, We are planning a move of the git server on Nov 23th at 20 UTC. There will be a DNS switch and some quick tweaks that will be needed after it. Expect a bit of downtime during the intervention. Use the gitlab or github mirror if you really need to access/clone it. Cheers, Jonathan

RabbitMQ / bug 26742: in production message broker on a specific server ?

Hi to all, I hope many of yours rember me (more then two years ago !!). I'm helping a library (in Italy) to update to Koha 20.11.x I read mailing list and bugs about addiction of RabbitMQ as task queue / message broker. I understand that all start from using Plack, if I use it there are problem with task queue. From 20.11.x if you use Plack, you need to use RabbitMQ, at least for batch update record tools. So, what is the suggestion for a production server ? To install always RabbitMQ in specific server ? Or is a specific server for RabbitMQ only for multi-instance installation ? issue with plack in 20.05

Hola! Now getting this error running plack (well, it's not running, actually): Error while loading /inlibro/koha/rn20-test-inlibro/etc/plack.psgi: Can't load application from file "/inlibro/git/koha-rn20-test-inlibro/api/v1/app.pl": Possibly a typo in schema? *Could not find "/checkout_id_pp" in "parameters/checkout.json#/checkout_id_pp"* (parameters/checkout.json#/checkout_id_pp) at /usr/local/share/perl/5.24.1/JSON/Validator.pm line 416. ...(at the top of a looong stack) Our branch is a bit different than pure v20.05.05, but we have no modification under /api/v1/swagger/. "checkout_id_pp" is there, as it was in 19.05, etc.. Note: the log is full of these. checkout_id_pp, checkout_id_qp, city_id_pp, etc... Any hint would be welcomed while I eep digging, Thanks! Kohadevbox with libvirt/kvm

I've just started looking at kohadevbox, and was wondering if anybody had tried to use it with (1) libvirt/kvm and (2) an existing Debian 9 VM. The situation is that the last few years, I've already been using libvirt/kvm to create a few Koha VMs for testing, and I have a Debian 9 VM ready to go for gitified development. I was hoping that perhaps I could modify the kohadevbox system just a bit to use my existing setup, so that (1) I wouldn't be forced to use Virtualbox, and (2) I wouldn't have to wait for it to download and create a new Debian 9 VM, since I already have one. Has anybody out there tried to do this? -- I'm doing my part to help preserve life on earth by trying to preserve my own. --Ashleigh Brilliant

getmysqlhost() function not fetching / setting the hostname in koha-conf.xml

Hi devs, A followup to my earlier post https://lists.koha-community.org/pipermail/koha-devel/2020-November/046112.… I found that the function getmysqlhost() in the koha-create bash script wasn't able to set the hostname in the koha-conf.xml. My /etc/mysql/debian.cnf contains - # Automatically generated for Debian scripts. DO NOT TOUCH! And /etc/mysql/koha-common.cnf is symlinked to /etc/mysql/koha-common.cnf I have MariaDB 10.5 installed from MariaDB repo on Debian 10. Hi, saluton, hola, bonjour, String freeze is into effect as of now for the 19.05.x maintenance branch. The 19.05.17 release is scheduled for the 23th. **IMPORTANT NOTICE**: This will be the last scheduled release of the 19.05.x branch. So the last possibility to fix or add translations. There have been some wording changes to a few sysprefs description that requires to retranslate them. no backups when running koha-run-backups

Hi, The scenario - Koha 19.11.11, MariaDB 10.5 on Debian 10. The problem - no backups are being generated under the default backupdir either via cron or when running koha-run-backups manually. It exists without any output or error shown on STDOUT. Interestingly, a regular mysqldump using the koha db user and pass from koha-conf.xml works flawlessly.
