Tax rewrite ready to test!

Hello all, I am proud to announce that the tax rewrite is ready to test! All patches from patches present on the graph [1] are applied on the branch kohac/ft/bug_13323 [2] (based on the current master). The sandbox 17 [3] has been frozen with this branch and will be updated regularly. All the bug reports depending on bug 12825 don't modify the current behaviors. The 3 on the top of the graph does. 1/ Bug 13321 (Tax and prices calculation need to be fixed) is the most important one, the price calculation is changed (and the existing data fixed). 2/ Bug 13324 (The fund values must be based on tax included values) is a small patch, it modifies the way the fund values are calculated (should be based on tax included values). 3/ Bug 13323 (Change the tax rate on receiving) is a new enhancement. All the patches before have submitted to make this patch easy to write. This enhancement has been written easily, with only few changes in pl scripts. It will permit to change the tax rate on receiving, it's a need for several libraries, at least in France. If you want to know how the prices are calculated everywhere, you can have a look at the C4::Acquisition::populate_order_with_prices subroutine, or at the specification on the wiki [4] Note that the way freight costs are calculated is not changed yet. The size of all patches not pushed yet is 62 files changed, 1803 insertions(+), 931 deletions(-) In test files: 10 files changed, 663 insertions(+), 147 deletions(-), in DB files: 4 files changed, 346 insertions(+), 21 deletions(-). So it's a big change, but especially because of the variable names homogeneity, the tests added and the DB structure changes. I really would like to see a quick integration of this rewrite. First to avoid regression with the current version (caused by rebases), and not to push it at the end of the release cycle. This patch set has been tested and validated by 2 testers at BibLibre (Laurence and Stéphane) and by Sonia from the Lyon3 team during the last signoff day. I am quite confident with it. Pending PDF::Reuse Release And Koha

I have rolled a pending PDF::Reuse release which incorporates several methods which I wrote to accommodate the label and patroncard tools in Koha back in 2009. I had hoped these would be included in PDF::Reuse before now; however, they were not. The module appears to have been abandoned by the original author, and I was able to be listed as a co-maintainer. I have tested these changes on Koha's current head, and they appear to work fine. This is an official call for testing these changes prior to my releasing the new version of PDF::Reuse. Since these changes directly affect Koha, they have the potential to affect current and future stable installs. Below is a link to a dev release of PDF::Reuse which contains the proposed changes. Attached is a patch formatted against the head current at the time of this email. Please do the following: 1. Upgrade PDF::Reuse to 0.35_01. 2. Run Koha's non-DB dependent test suite. You should notice some non-fatal warnings about the redefinition of one or two subs in PDF::Reuse. This should not affect the functionality of the tools for the end user. 3. Verify the functionality of the related tools. 4. Apply the attached patch. 5. Re-run Koha's non-DB dependent test suite. You should note no warnings related to PDF::Reuse. 6. Re-verify the functionality of the related tools. 7. Reply to the list with any issue which arise. After we're happy with the changes, I will submit the attached patch to Koha via normal channels for QA, etc. This conversation will serve as QA for the proposed PDF::Reuse release. There are many things which could be different about the code in PDF::Reuse. This release is not the time to deal with these, so please keep it to show-stopping problems. There will be plenty of time to "fix" other things later. (That said, feel free to send along any thoughts directly to me.) Accounts Rewrite

Hey All, It's been well over a year since I submitted my first iteration of the accounts rewrite. Now that 3.18 is out the door, I think it's time to hit the ground running! Due to the size of this change, I'm asking for *two* QA volunteers who are willing to work closely with me to make sure we have all our ducks in a row. I think it should be first pass, second pass, rather than both simultaneously. Any QA'er whose willing to work with me on this, please let me know! I can state that right now it's definitely not in a passable state, there are a number of visual bugs that need to be taken care of, but all in all it works really well. We've had two partners battle testing this code since I first submitted it, and the only issues are related to backporting the feature to older versions of Koha. In addition, NEKLS has volunteered to test it as well. I'm working on setting up their test server with the code. I anticipate getting the patches to a signed off state very soon, so please, if anyone is willing to help qa this, let me know! What Debian is supposed to be used?

Greetings, I just started a fresh Debian Wheezy git install. I grabbed the latest Wheezy ISO from the Debian site. And after a "$ sudo apt-get install koha-perldeps koha-deps make", when I run "$ ./koha_perl_deps.pl –m –u" I get this: Installed Required Module is Module Name Version Version Required -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- HTTPD::Bench::ApacheBench 0 * 0.73 No Test::DBIx::Class 0 * 0.42 No Archive::Extract 0.48 * 0.60 No DBIx::Class::Schema::Loader 0.07025 * 0.07039 Yes Test::WWW::Mechanize 1.42 * 1.44 No -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Total modules reported: 5 * Module is missing or requires an upgrade. DBIx::Class::Schema::Loader is a core function, and well, that's a mess to update. I've got perl 5.14.2 as far as I can tell. Are we really trying to force people to use Jessie? Bug 10480 Framework plugins

About greek support

Hie, I'd like to present the work done on Bug 11927 : http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=11927 We started this work during last HackFest with goal to propose a support of Greek characters in Zebra CHR indexing mode. One will say that ICU mode is recommended for non-latin languages, but the problem is that in the case of a mixed Greek+Latin catalogue, the transliteration of greek into latin is unwanted. In fact, a greek user wants to search greek records using greek characters. With ICU those characters will be transliterated and they may match latin records. Any people interested in testing is welcomed. I already apologize if something is obviously wrong. I do not speak greek but I've learned it a bit at school and it's a pleasure to use this fantastic language again.
