Koha 3.2 in virtualization or with several database : Is it effective ?

Hello everyone, I'm preparing to install Koha 3.2 for 20 schools and I was wondering if some of you had used the method of virtualization (VMWare or Virtualbox). If yes, is it effective? What are the problems you encountered? Have you done any benchmarks? I am also looking for a method with one Koha and several databases and Zebras : Is this a successful method? KohaCon in 84 days

Hello, (apologies for cross-posting) Koha celebrates its 10th anniversary this year. As you know, we will hold this year's KohaCon in Wellington from 25-27 October 2010, followed by a Hackfest. You should fix the permissions You can then do your work edit a file git commit file if you want that change on your server git push Occasionally you will want to do a git pull to get the latest changes from other members of your team also. Of course when working on GPLed code as Koha is, you have the option of hosting your repository somewhere like gitorious or github. That way others can benefit from the work you do and work isn't duplicated, and you are giving back to the project. Chris

Is There A Way To Request Data Via Another Web App

Hi All, I am a new developer. I have a web application that requires to be able to query Koha for a list of books that are checked out to a particular user,. Is this exposed via an interface, or is reading it dirrectly from the database my best bet? If reading the data that I need dirrectly from the database is the best solution, is there documentation that describes the layout of the databases? Any help is greatly appreciated. 'koha' contains a standard configuration and is useful to get a single instance up and running quickly, and 'koha-common' (which contains all the code and support scripts) allows a more complex setup, at the expense of not giving you one up front. If you use the 'koha' package, you'll need to set up the zebra-related cron jobs and launch scripts yourself, as the site that it gives you isn't hooked into the Koha site management system that koha-common on its own uses. My recommendation at the moment would be to just install koha-common, and use the koha-create script to generate a single instance. What I might do in the future when I get time is make the 'koha' package install its default site in such a way that it gets managed by the koha-common tools. This would mean that the koha-rebuild-zebra cron job and such like magically happen. In fact, I've created a bug: http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=5071 so that this doesn't fall off my radar. Deprecated System Preferences

Hello all, There is a discussion going on on this bug report: http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=3756 regarding deprecated preferences and the fact that they still show in Koha. I want to submit a patch (as is suggested) to remove these preferences, but I need confirmation that they are in fact deprecated. Below is the list of preferences can you all chip in and tell me which are really deprecated so that I don't delete something important? Building Debian packages

As I mentioned a little while back, I've started maintaining the Koha Debian packages.
