Spanish translation of 1.9.2

Hello everyone, Thanks to the hard work of the good people at the Sistema de Informacin Universitaria in Argentina, we now have a Spanish translation of the Koha 1.9.2 templates. These should be tried out, tested, and made to work with 1.9.3 (and newer) as quickly as possible. If you're in a position to try these out, please do. If you find problems, please report them at bugs.koha.org. All of the files now live in the main cvs tree, so if you want to try them out, you'll need to use cvs to get them from sourceforge. Items with shorter lifespans like paperback romances get deleted fairly frequently. Some mechanism needs to be available to librarians for getting them out of the publicly-searched pool of items. -- Owen

Ranking requests

I'm looking at the table of requests displayed by request.pl and wondering how the 'rank' modification works. It seems happy enough for me to specify '1' for all the requests on a single book. Is it up to me to alter the rank of all the requests at once? If so, shouldn't there be a mechanism for doing this automatically? For example, our waiting list for the upcoming Harry Potter book is 60 names long. It would be infeasible to renumber all 60 by hand. -- Owen ---- Nelsonville Public Library Koha 1.9.3

Circulation.pl crash

Hi After a fresh CVS update today, we get the following error HTML::Template::param() : attempt to set parameter 'todayissues' with an array ref - parameter is not a TMPL_LOOP! at /home/koha/intranet/cgi-bin/circ/circulation.pl line 291 [Tue Jun 3 12:54:57 2003] [error] [client XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX] Premature end of script headers: /home/koha/intranet/cgi-bin/circ/circulation.pl and the famous "INTERNAL SERVER ERROR" message. Circulation worked fine before the update.... Can someone please fix it ? Thanks Jerome

I'm sure much of it could be scripted by someone with more script-fu than I. HTML- Tidy would be the obvious solution, but the version I have locally chokes on HTML::Template tags. -- Owen

User info modification

Hi I'm having problems with Koha (CVS version) trying to modify properties of a borrower. We're using cardnumber like 00A000. The cardnumber field in the borrower table is reported as a varchar(9) so letters shouldn't be a problem. The fact is, when I try to modify properties, when applying changes, Koha tells me that my cardnumber is invalid ! Is this a local problem ? I've tried with digits only and still had the same problem. By the way, I want to change the mandatory fields in the user info page. Is there a way to change it ? If so where ? Thanks Jerome

Borrower categories

Hi I'm trying to use the borrower categories to change borrowers loan length. I've been looking at the different fields in the categories table but couldn't something suitable. Example : I've got a book itemtype which loan length is set to 7 days. I've got two borrower categories. I want the first one (default) to borrow the book for 7 days (no problem there) but I also want the other borrower category (super-borrowers :) to be able to borrow the same books with a loan length of 3 months. Is there a way I can do it ? Thanks Jerome

Templates

I'm glad to see discussion of the templates, since that's my project right now as well. I took the intranet templates from the 1.9.3 release and did a bunch of clean-up. Here's what I did: - added DOCTYPE declaration where appropriate - added optional closing tags in some cases (</li>, </option>) - converted html tags to lower-case - made sure all attributes are quoted - fixed any minor markup errors I could see I think they're in better shape, hopefully I didn't introduce any errors through all that search-and-replace. I zipped it up and posted it to our site if anyone's interested: http://koha.athenscounty.lib.oh.us/Koha193-intranet-templates_revised.tgz I think we still need to work to make it easier to adapt and write custom templates. A couple people have mentioned the idea of producing 'skeletal' versions of the templates, maybe just listing all the available variables, form structures, etc. I'd love to hear other folks' input on this, including any suggestions for how to proceed. -- Owen ---- Nelsonville Public Library Koha 1.9.3
