Another question about member searches: If you search for 'smith, j' names returned will include: Smith, Brian J. Smith, Bobbi J. as well as: Smith, James Smith, Jacob I would expect the latter, but not the former. I assumed that the search was looking for first names *beginning with* J, not just including J as a keyword. I would consider the 'beginning with' search to be preferable. Do I understand the way it works correctly? What do others think? -- Owen

You must be root to run this script. It does not give any reasons why it wants to run as root. I'm not sure why it wants root from a quick look at the code of installer.pl. It is probably a bad security idea to run the whole process as root instead of su or sudo'ing for selected parts. Is a userland installation of koha is possible? Borrow and reserve for self works. But if I give someone all permissions but superlibrarian they are not allowed to go to the Catalogue section or to set Parameters which I had checked off. Lesser librarians - those who I had given permission only to circulate books and other front desk tasks could not log in at all.
