Where we should add this function ?

Our Librarians discovered that: when you're in the OPAC Search, when you enter in the ISBD detail (at least in the OPAC) those fields that have authorized values aren't displayed propoerly. To clarify this: When you display a certain field that has an authorized valued you get the key, not the value. We developed a function that "notices" that a field has authorized values and returns the proper value or does nothing. We want to to contribute back this function to the project, In which module should we add this function? Thanks Andres PD: We'll be on leave till Janury 17th.

Somemore koha.upgrade problems

Hei, I am still trying to upgrade to 2.2.0RC4 with the koha.upgrade script but it seems that there are several things not working. I will try to present some of the things I have noticed: 1. Wrong version number "WELCOME TO THE KOHA UPGRADER You are attempting to upgrade from Koha 2.2.0RC4 to ." The version number is wrong. "2.2.0RC4" should be after "to" and before should be the old version number. I think the problem is in line 17 of the updater skript, because you take the kohaversion from 'cat koha.version' and this file is in the RC4 source folder, so it is the new version number, but it is used in line 26 as first argument and 'newversion' seems to be empty. I think in line 17 it should be "newversion" and you need to take the old version number from the config file, but in my koha.conf the version number is empty. *hmmmmm* 2. Under "INSTALLING FILES" at the end of the copying I get this message: "Use of uninitialized value in concatenation (.) or string at Install.pm line 1655." Well, I am not sure what is the problem there and if this is related with my last problem. 3. "MARC FIELD DEFINITIONS" I am choosing the default "Marc21" and then I get this message: ERROR 1045: Access denied for user: 'bibliotek@localhost' (Using password: NO) User and host names are right, but there should be a password. In the koha.conf is the password, but I don't know why it is not used. Sorry, I cannot give so much help with Perl at the moment. I have just worked once short with Perl quite some time ago, but not really much and I think it will take some time before I get in it. Regards, Klaus -- take care! xo,klaus

It seems like we're asking folks who want to be translators to also be proficient with Perl (or at the very least comfortable with the Linux command line). That limits our options. When we get offers like this, can we send them *just* the translator's file? That's how it works, right? The translation script strips out all the language strings and the translator translates them in isolation? We could at least get rough draft translations without expecting people to have a working Koha installation. Search and Install bugs in Koha2.2RC5

Hi all, Just installed Koha2.2 for the first time. Looks great. 1. There is a typo in koha.upgrade, after it copies OPAC interface to /usr/local/opac/cgi-bin, the script reportes an error: "Use of uninitialized value in concatenation (.) or string at Install.pm line 1656". I was trying to upgrade 2.0 to 2.2RC5. 2. On a MARCdetail.pl screen, when I hit any search button (the ones with magnifying glass icons) I get an internal server error :-(. The error log is a rather long, see below. 3. I'm also having problems installing 2.2RC5 from scratch. After typing in mysql root password, the installer script bombs out with a message "Error 1054 at line 1. Unknown column 'lock_tables_priv' in 'field list'" followed by "Access denied for user to database Koha". It installed fine when I removed 'lock_tables_priv' from insert statement in Install.pm. I'm running as root on FC2. Weird behaviour?

Hi every body !!!! Hope you had enjoyed christmas.We have some things that are not clear, maybe you can help us. Our library has two branches, each branch has in it's collections books, magazines, CDs (audio and software) and and Video recordings (mostly VHS, some other formats). We are using frameworks and modified the bulkmarcimport to make it aware of the frameworks. Now when we catalog a new item koha uses the proper framework. We noticed in the OPAC search when we look for a video that the director's name doesn't appear, and some anoyances like that. Since the mapping between Non-Marc and Marc are unique I can't stablish different bindings for different kind of item, the author of a book goes to a different field that the director of a movie. Is anybody expiriencing something like this ? any suggestion? Thanks Andres

2.2.0 official and online help

Hello koha folks, As announced, the official 2.2.0 should be out on january, 3rd or 4th. There is a little thing missing in our preferred ILS : ONLINE HELP The parameters section is done (thanks to nelsonville guys) The member section is done (thanks to BWS johnson) The new modules are documented (serials & for example, thanks to me) Catalogue is partially done Acquisition is not done So if some of you have a CVS of 2.2.0RCx installation somewhere and some minuts, don't hesitate to write some help. Post it on this mailing list or on the wiki (www.koha.org/wiki) i'll take care of it when i'm back Just be carefull some help exist on the CVS that is not on the wiki. If you have a 2.2.0RCx, you have all the existing doc, except member section that has been provided recently by BWS johnson. If you are subscribed to the Koha list, you've seen the announcement of the new website for holding Koha documentation: http://www.kohadocs.org. After a frustrating session with CVS, and considering that the Koha documents are hard to find in Sourceforge anyway, I decided to set up this site dedicated to Koha documents. While the site has the advantage of being much easier for me to maintain, and much easier for the user to find the documents, the disadvantage, of course, is that all changes to documents will have to go through me; however, since I have developed a standardized structure for the documents as I have been working with them, and would like to maintain that standard, I don't see this as being a problem. The site contents should be easy to transfer to another location, should that ever become necessary. I still have a couple of documents waiting for author approval, and a couple more which I need to edit and return to the authors for approval. same barcode number
