Missing File

On 14th September I've submited to this list that I've found that the file attached below was missing in version 2.1.1, again is missing in version 2.1.2 While testing the members section of the intranet, in the member search screen, I've noticed that when I clicked the button "add member", i get a horrible crash, a CGI was missing. I've got the missing CGI from a previous install, I've also updated the path that were pointing to the wrong place. The CGI is attached below. The missing CGI should be added in the INTRANET_CGI_DIR/members. Please submit it to the main CVS. Andrés

Physics Library UNLP - features proposed

Hi all At Argentina's UNLP Physics Library we upload "a vision" of the functionality that we propose to be included in 2.4 roadmap. It doesn't intend to be the formal 2.4 roadmap but perhaps could help to see what are we working before the 20 Sep irc meeting. The almost finished functionality includes some screenshots, the idea is to test if is there international interest for each functionality to be included inside an official release (2.4, 2.6 or any we all agree), and diferentiate our local (and only local) requirements. I think we are not in conditions actually to write a formal roadmap or to be a release manager, our plans consists in finish this scheme of added functionality and start testing (Koha 2.X + this features) in a production environment (after all of this we'll take the role of bug reporters/correctors). Please let me know what do you think about the features, what other ideas must we take in account, which things are unclear, what kind of things are very specific and not general, which things reflects a behaviour that must be parametrized, and so on. This "proposal" is not closed at all, one more time we request for Paul help in discovering this kind of things. Arch Questions

I suppose the following is more specifically for MJ, but please feel free to jump in and clarify a couple of items for me. Let me start by saying I haven't fully investigated Arch yet, and I reaslise some of my question maybe answered elsewhere. All of my revision control experience has been based on CVS and Subversion. (1) From the sound of it, we all can maintain our own individual repositories under Arch, so is there no central repository? I am just concerned that if there are no central repositories, apart from the individual developers, about data backups etc (2) How does one manage the potential different "development" versions ... for example, I get some time to do some QA and bug squashing work on the latest vesion and I use my own Arch repository, and I archive and publish it on my public file space. Doesn't this potentially just get really messy with what could in fact look like numerous forks poping up around the web? I accept that these questions are probably just process questions, that I have missed seeing the answers to (and I also realise that Arch requires a completely different mindset from what I have been used to. Moving to Arch?

In yesterday's IRC, "CVS and Arch" was one of the last things discussed and some of the developers had to be in other places by then, so I agreed to summarise to the list and start discussion here. Please wade in with comments or questions as you see fit. Here we go! Introduction: I introduced GNU Arch http://www.gnuarch.org/ which solved the problems I had getting 2.0 under control and making tarballs from it. The move mostly consisted from making a tarball from CVS, unpacking it and then adding the files to an Archive. That's what you can get from my development page at http://www.mjr.dsl.pipex.com/ Anyone can make their own copy of the koha2 archive and publish it if they have a public file space (web, ftp or sftp for sure). That works for mirrors and for development branches. So, new developers have full revision control easily, by default, rather than needing hacks or write access to the release source tree. A release manager can merge their changes into the release tree with a simple command. Apart from merging, all operations happen on your own file space, which eliminates the wait for a central server to answer that often holds me back with CVS. Suggestion and tasks: I suggest trying to move to arch for 2.4 development if we can get it working for current developers, because it should make the lives of the release managers and new developers a lot easier. I've offered to answer questions and improve my tutorial until it's good enough. Some commented about having large amounts of CVS experience, but there didn't really any great love for CVS, more a feeling of "better the devil we know". The sticking points are likely to be users of GUI interfaces and Microsoft Windows, so I'd be very happy about offers to help with those. No other public archives for 2.0 were posted, which I think is a shame, but I guess 2.2 has all the appeal for developers now. A couple of people mentioned that they would like 2.0 commit messages to koha-cvs, so I'll try to set that up. There was a suggestion of compiling a list of benefits and drawbacks of each system, but I think that's probably already covered by http://wiki.gnuarch.org/moin.cgi/SubVersionAndCvsComparison or could be (it's a wiki). Finally, what would happen to the CVS? I'd leave it as a historical record, with some clear marking that development has moved on. It sounds like this is quite a shift of power, if I understand correctly, from a group of trusted developers to a single director who chooses what goes in and what doesn't. Do I understand correctly? Opinions? I've never used DocBook but from what I've heard it's a good medium ... I'll check it out this weekend if I have time. I've been thinking that it might be a good idea to use a Wiki for at least the initial editing of the document (so that any of us can make changes/additions to the content) and then when we're all satisfied we can move the text to more universal formats (maybe through Docbook) ... how does that sound?
