Hello friends, I'm running koha for the last one year and recently upgraded to 2.2.3. As it requires PDF::API2, I have installed the version 0.44 (the latest available version). But it is not working. Then I came to know the version dependency of barcode.pl of koha 2.2.3. It requires a bit older one 0.3r77. I downloaded the required one. But the question is how to uninstall the previous one i,e, 0.44 from site_perl. Is it necessary to uninstall 0.44 before installation of 0.3r77? P S Mukhopadhyay Lecturer, Deptt. of LIb. & Inf. 2.2 => new submenus

Hi, i've just commited some stuff to make Koha more user friendly. 2 things : * some css rules changes (in buttons for example) * a dynamic submenu for each menu (getting rid with submenu) To test you can : * update your cvs copy (done only for default templates in english) * http://bureau.paulpoulain.com:9019/cgi-bin/koha/acqui/acqui-home.pl (login test/test), or any other Koha page. new "letter" system in HEAD

Hi developpers, I'm pleased to introduce the new "Letters" system : Letters will be used everytime you want to sent something to someone (through mail or paper). For example, sending a mail for overdues use letter that you can put as parameters. Sending a mail to a borrower when a suggestion is validated uses a letter too. the letter table contains 3 fields : * code => the code of the letter * name => the complete name of the letter * content => the complete text. It's a TEXT field type, so has no limits. My next goal now is to work on point 2-I "serial issue alert" With this feature, in serials, a user can subscribe the "issue alert". For every issue arrived/missing, a mail is sent to all subscribers of this list. The mail warns the user that the issue is arrive or missing. Will be in head. (see mail on koha-devel, 2005/04/07) The "serial issue alert" will be the 1st to use this letter system that probably needs some tweaking ;-) Once it will be stabilised default letters (in any languages) could be added during installer to help the library begin with this new feature. Barcodes generator and PDF::API2

I wonder if anyone (Matias?) plans to update barcodesGenerator.pl so it will work with the current version of PDF::API2 instead of requiring version 0.3r77. If not, perhaps we should warn people (as part of the install process?) that they need to grab an old version of that module. Bug in Koha 2.2.3

Hello all, A french UNIMARC library has found a bug that could affect everybody : In Koha, when MARC=ON, if a field is more than 200 characters, the MARC editor shows it in a textarea of 5 lines instead of a single line. There is a small & stupid bug that makes the modif of such a biblio buggy (all the values after the 1st textarea will be lost :-( ) to fix it, just go to : $KOHA/cgi-bin/acqui.simple/, and modify addbiblio.pl, ligne 201 : Replace $subfield_data{marc_value}="<textarea name=\"fieldvalue\" cols=\"50\" rows=\"5\" >$value</textarea>"; by $subfield_data{marc_value}="<textarea name=\"field_value\" cols=\"50\" rows=\"5\" >$value</textarea>"; (yes, just one _ missing...) -- Paul POULAIN Consultant indépendant en logiciels libres responsable francophone de koha (SIGB libre http://www.koha-fr.org)

Some doubts about the reserved

Our librarians requested a new feature: They want to register the date a user was notified that a book he/she reserved is availiable. I've noticed that theres a fiedl called notificationdate that seems to be unused in the reserves table, someone is using it? Can I use it? Andres PS: By the way, I've developed a small CGI for letting the users change the password from the OPAC. It's usefull for the core project?, let me know and I will upload it to this mailing list. Adam, I'm going to copy this message to the Koha developers list, since I think you have found a possible bug in Koha. I believe I have seen at least one other message like yours, and had thought it was a Windows problem. I see now, however, that selecting "no marc" for 2.2.3 does not load the marc_word table (of course), yet the searches look for matches in the marc_word table -- so they would never work! At least that's what it looks like to me.
