Hi, We have installed and configured koha 3.0 on debian and our system is active now at University of Engineering and Technology Lahore Pakistan and soon will be available through Internet. At this stage, we want to provide URDU Language support in this koha 3.0 system to add books from URDU as well as wanna input values in required fileds (e.g. Title, auther name, publisher name etc.) in URDU. But we are facing problem to add URDU record. As soon as an URDU record is entered and we press save record button (add marc record), it generates an error. All required fields are in UTF-8. Book Checkout Issue

Good Afternoon All I did my test server that currently has Koha installed and did a restore of the database from a dump file. All went well no problems and all my data was there. But now when I try to check out a book for a patron it goes to a blank screen with just top header. I am able to find the patron then I put the book barcode in select Checkout button and I get the top header and that's it and the book is never checked out to the patron. Has anyone seen this before? Hello List, I'm new to the list, my name is Ardeshir Sepahsalar. I have been reading the koha developers mailing list for some time, and look forward to helping out. I have a working Koha 3.0 system available for anyone interested in using/testing and working with a live Catalog, @ http://www.ardeshir.org At this time, if anyone has Marc records they would like to import, it would greatly help using/testing this system. So far, I've been using the Z39.50 to upload records, and it's working. I've been reading this list for about a month and I've been doing some small development tasks for roughly two. I'm sure I'll ask some questions of the Koha savvy in time as I'm new to ILS scene. OPAC Search

Hi all, As I understand [..], Koha 3.0 stable does not let me find records linked to a specific term, if I search on an unauthorized form of this term in the OPAC. (At least, when the wrong term differs so much that fuzzy search does not include it.) If that assumption is correct [and I did not miss something here], is such a feature ever evaluated by the Koha developers? What makes it hard to implement? Are you aware of any negative side-effects? Simple example to illustrate this point: Bibliographic record 1 BOOK 100 Author 245 Title 650=Test [linked to authid 1] Authority record 1 ESTABL. TERM 150 Test 450 Oldtezt Optionally: Auth rec 2 TRACED REF 150 Oldtezt 260 Test When searching the OPAC, I would like my user to find book 1 when typing Oldtezt in the search bar. C4::Members Attributes tightener integration

I would like to propose that C4::Members::Attributes could be more tightly integrated into C4::Members so that AddMember(%member) or ModMember,... or whatever... would also call Attributes add. This would allow ppl to have only one function call to add a Member and not many little functions to call. And would eventually be more friendly for unifying calls to functions. Does that sound a good idea ? I could send a patch tomorrow about that. Comments welcome. -- Henri-Damien LAURENT

Greetings, I have been installed koha 3.00.01, using UNIMARC, but during the import of records with bulkmarcimport, I have the fallowing error: <".Use of uninitialized value in length at C4/Biblio.pm line 3130, <GEN10> line 207.">. I did the same with koha3.00 and all good. I will appreciate your answers

Bulkmarcimport and authorities

Hello, I'm converting data from our old library system into Koha version 3, running on Linux, and I'm having a problem with authorities. First, I did a bulk import, using bulkmarcimport.pl, then I ran rebuild_nozebra.pl. It was my understanding that rebuild_nozebra.pl would build the authorities and make them searchable. When that script runs, it displays a message reading "building authorities index". But when I search for authorities in auth_finder.pl (the window that appears when you click on the ... link after an authority field), it always gives zero results. If I open the record in the Koha interface and save it again, the authorities for the saved record do come up in a search. Is there some other script I should run to build the authorities from the bibliographic information already imported? Alternately, since opening a record for editing and saving it solves my problem, is there a script I can run to reproduce the effect of opening and saving a record through the Koha interface? The idea being that I could write a script (or better yet, use an existing one) to cycle through each record and re-save it. Thanks for your help, Jason

Yeah, that's a problem. I guess for now it'll have to be done with SQL. I will make a bug for this one. Question about Koha 3.0 Urdu Support!

Hi, I'm trying to incorporate Urdu language support in Koha. I just want to save a record in "Urdu". But when, in interanet section, I click on "Add MARC Record", and enter my record in urdu, it gives an error " The following fatal error has occurred: Can't call method "as_usmarc" on an undefined value at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Search.pm line 2133. " Can anyone help me in this regard? Note: We are using UTF-8 encoding scheme. Thanks, Muhammad Wasim
