Hi! We use koha 3.12 and we have today a problem with our opac. When we do a search, it gives no results (but, the professional search work fine). I run zebra as a user named koha and the ownership of files are ok. I've checked some systempreferences as "hidelostitem" and "opacsuppression": all is ok. An idea? Best regards Samuel

Koha ldap authentication problem

Hi guys, I am experiencing some erratic behavior getting koha to talk to our ldap server. I am trying setup where koha updates existing user details (mainly passwords) but not replicate. This way only users created on the koha server are able to authenticate since the userid on koha is the same as on our ldap(openldap). However my experience has been very inconsistent. Users are not immediately authenticated until after numerous tries (and restarting koha-common) and when a user is eventually authenticated changes to the user password on ldap are not immediately reflected. Here are my system details koha 3.12 using debian Squeeze Packages here is my ldap configuration. <useldapserver>1</useldapserver> <ldapserver id="ldapserver" listenref="ldapserver"> <hostname>192.168.0.1</hostname> <base>ou=People,dc=example,dc=com</base> <user>admin,ou=People,dc=example,dc=com</user> <pass>password</pass> <replicate>0</replicate> <update>1</update> <mapping> <userid is="uid"></userid> <surname is="sn"></surname> <password is="userPassword"></password> </mapping> </ldapserver> I have been able to get other services like pam (library desktops running Linux) moodle, and alfresco to authenticate users against our ldap. If anyone could point me to with I am doing wrong and if there is any other switch which need be flipped to get ldap working on Koha I would really appreciate. Also any means of getting a more verbose log on what happens when koha tries to authenticate against ldap.. I have not be able get any log on whats from from opac.err intranet.err.

Koha + LDAP

Hi all! I'm trying to set up a Koha instance (stable, v3.12, koha-common) with an OpenLDAP. I already setup koha-conf.xml and fix every LDAP error I had, using the output of: /usr/share/koha/opac/cgi-bin/opac/opac-user.pl userid="10000" password="1234" >/dev/null But now this only gives me: Use of uninitialized value $pki_field in string eq at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Auth.pm line 789, <DATA> line 522. Use of uninitialized value $retuserid in string ne at /usr/share/koha/lib/C4/Auth.pm line 826, <DATA> line 522. Same on intranet-error.log or opac-error.log, trying via web; same lines if ldap user or local user. But logging with local accounts works fine, the problem is just with LDAP, which AFAIK use MD5, so I was wondering if all this have something to do with bug #9611<http://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=9611>. Already installed Crypt::Eksblowfish::Bcrypt and Crypt::Random::Source without luck. Using ldapsearch to fetch user information works fine. Any ideas? Koha QA repo changes

hi All just a heads-up, I've renamed (corrected) the github QA repo to match the kc.org repo from koha-qa-test to qa-test-tools the reason? koha-qa-test name is used for another koha project, already here the new repo -> https://github.com/Koha-Community/qa-test-tools the github repo is *temporarily* the primary until we sort some ssh access problems to git.kc.org until then, the git.kc.org repo is being updated from github every hour for the curious, heres the kc.org repo -> http://git.koha-community.org/cgi-bin/gitweb.cgi?p=qa-test-tools.git thanks, Mason

3.6.1 upgrade to 3.8.5 and bug 8071

In my continuing quest to upgrade 3.6.1 to 3.8.x without loss of functionality (specifically authorities, generally zebra) I have now upgraded my sandbox (db fully synchronized with the production box) to 3.8.5 along the lines of "bug 8071 blocker" ... however in 3.8.5: Results 1 to 20 of 424 Summary Used in Delete World War, 1914-1918 Details 0 biblio(s) Delete World War, 1914-1918 Aerial operations. Details 0 biblio(s) Delete / ... / in 3.6.1: World War, 1914-1918 Details 5 biblio(s) World War, 1914-1918 Aerial operations. Details 16 biblio(s) / ... / So, are authorities during the upgrade still broken? Is it my db? I did do a "test" during the upgrade: paul@server:/koha-3.08.05$ sudo make test / ... / Test Summary Report ------------------- t/Barcodes_ValueBuilder.t (Wstat: 512 Tests: 0 Failed: 0) Non-zero exit status: 2 Parse errors: Bad plan. Broken url in arabic facets.. and fix

Hi, Karam made an interesting discovery for Bug 10176 [1], putting "use utf8;" on Search.pm fixes URL of facets (not display well for me, but url works). Digging a little I found that on line 574 of master Search.pm there is a strange symbol (last between []). Seems to be an inverted question mark. Karam saids that is Arabic one. 572:# Sanitize the link value : parenthesis, question and exclamation mark will cause errors with CCL 573- my $facet_link_value = $one_facet; 574- $facet_link_value =~ s/[()!?¡¿؟]/ /g; 575- Question: this char is a typo? Was introduced on Bug 9183 [2] 'use utf8;' fixes the substitute, and the URLs.
