Chrome vs. Firefox in recent versions of Koha / Firefox

Hi All, I was testing today in different browsers and noted that Chrome seems to be loading much faster than Firefox. In looking at the logs, I see that Chrome makes about 3 requests per page, while Firefox is making 20+ calls, mostly for .css and .js files. It seems that Firefox has changed it's caching strategy and more files are being reloaded. mirror on gitlab

Hi devs, As you may want to fork the Koha repo on gitlab ( https://gitlab.com/koha-community/Koha) I'd like to share what I did and how it works. This repo is a mirror of the official Koha repo (where RM and RMaints push). It means it is automatically updated by gitlab every X minutes ("Mirrored from https://github.com/Koha-Community/Koha.git. Updated 15 minutes ago.") If you fork this repo on gitlab you then can do the same with yours (mirror the one on gitlab), go to Settings, Repository, Pull from a remote repository, and fill it with https://gitlab.com/koha-community/Koha.git <https://$USER@gitlab.com/koha-community/Koha.git> and tick "Only mirror protected branches". Stable branches (master, 16.05 to 18.05) are marked as protected and will be update automatically. It will ease branch comparaison via the gitlab UI. Your repo will then marked as forked and mirrored ("Forked from koha-community / Koha <https://gitlab.com/koha-community/Koha>Mirrored from https://*****@gitlab.com/koha-community/Koha.git. Koha does not work after upgrade Ubuntu 18.04 LTS

Hello everybody! I have a big problem with my Koha installation for the small library in my primary school. After an update it does not run any more. With my technical experience I am now at the end and hope you can help me. I hope I got the right mailing list. What is used? Operating System: Ubuntu Server 18.04 LTS Koha: 18.05.01 stable OPAC: https://lesehoehle.foerderverein-hellwegschule.de What's the matter? Every few weeks I upgrade Ubuntu and Koha, if something is pending. I recorded the last upgrade yesterday, but since then I can't use Koha anymore. When calling the website I get the following error message: The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server. The proxy server could not handle the request GET /index.html. Reason: Error reading from remote server A matching error message seems to be in the Plack-error log: Error while loading /etc/koha/plack.psgi: Can't load application from file "/usr/share/koha/api/v1/app.pl": [JSON::Validator] GET http://json-schema.org/draft-04/schema == Connection refused at /usr/share/perl5/JSON/Validator.pm line 274. Compilation failed in require at (eval 1524) line 1. Child process 15572 exited with status 111 Can you help me? Thank you and many greetings Sven

Apache Fix for Koha REST API using CGI

Hi all, After taking Tomas's advice of installing Koha using the Debian packages and enabling Plack and seeing how the API works there, I've arrived at the conclusion that the Apache Rewrite rules are incorrect in the following files: debian/templates/apache-shared-intranet.conf debian/templates/apache-shared-opac.conf etc/koha-httpd.conf I've submitted a bug report and attached patches here: https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=21031 I've tested with a source installed Koha and a git dev Koha and the patches work great on both. Obviously, the Koha REST API is a lot slower when using CGI instead of Plack, but I figure it's still useful for CGI folk to be able to use it - and to use it with the same URL as the Plack folk. Hi Petter, That’s cool! Is that the Mojolicious-based REST API? I always thinks its newer than that, but I think my memory is probably failing me! I’ve actually been thinking a lot about adding Docker into the mix. I have a Windows workstation and I do have Docker for Windows installed, but it uses Hyper-V, to provide base Linux layer, which is incompatible with Virtualbox and VMware which I use for other projects all the time, so I haven’t gotten into using it much on my workstation (although I hear a lot of developers of other projects use Docker on their workstation exactly for this reason). I’ve actually been thinking about using Docker with the OSes we use for CI purposes, although I haven’t gotten that far yet, but I could probably leverage those environments to fire up a Docker container running Debian and Koha. I think I’ll probably either use Kohadevbox or just do a vanilla Virtualbox Debian install and manually install Koha. Actually, I think I have an Ansible playbook to handle a really simple non-dev Koha install… I should be working on other things at the moment, but maybe I’ll take a quick look at this now while you’re still online ;). I am guessing they don’t or they run Plack for their git development setup? If it’s the latter, that would work for me. Plack might not always be an option in prod, but it’s very doable in dev. Testing out Koha REST API with Apache

Hi all, How do you use the Koha REST API with Apache? Every time I try to hit any API endpoint, I just get a 404. The documentation seems pretty sparse on this one.
