Acquisitions.pm and Accounts2.pm have "use warnings;" which doesn't exist in perl 5.005. Do we need to depend on perl 5.6? Do we _need_ use warnings? I needed to enable includes_module in Apache and add "Options +Includes" to the VirtualHost sections to get the includes to work. Just me? Steve.

bugs in installer.pl

More bugs in installer.pl. These are basically just reminders to me. I'll work on them on Monday. SetEnv requires that the mod_env module is loaded.. which it wasn't on my apache, might be worth checking for... Scripts that don't run under Apache are going to have a problem finding C4, but that's another issue. :) Directories created (./intranet/cgi-bin, ./intranet/htdocs, ./intranet/modules, same for opac) were readable only by root, so apache user couldn't access the files. Got an error accessing acquisitions, log file states: script not found or unable to stat: /usr/share/koha/intranet/cgi-binloadmodules.pl Missing a '/' somewhere there. Steve.

installer.pl

Committed some fixes to installer.pl. Still some problems with database updating. Database.pm wasn't in perl's path... Also, the line for restarting apache fails in a spectacular fashion on my system, as that init script doesn't exist. Should probably test for it's existence first at the least. I'll add that. Fixed that. Now I'm getting an error about a bad format of the TransferLog line. That's it for me tonight. :) Steve.

I used the installer,pl and found I had to tune just a few things after that. I still have a few problems: 1- When I click on Acquistions, the message comes back "The requested object does not exist on this server. The link you followed is either outdated, inaccurate, or the server has been instructed not to let you have it. Please inform the site administrator of the referring page." No entry appears in the koha_error log for this. The netsite (url) bar at the top of the browser has this in it: http://www.lib.com/acquisitions/ 2- The Circulation page still lacks a printer or branch menu. I went into the parameters/library_branches menu and added a branch (I did not know what the "Issuing " field meant so I left it blank. After prssing OK, it came up with a blank screen. I was able to add a printer. Still though, the circulation screen comes up without the pulldowns for printer and branch. I also tried to add a book. By going to the addbooks.pl directly. (I had also already set the acquistions ariable to simple). attached is a copy of my error log. (look mostly at the end). 3 - I still must be doing something wrong with virtual hosts as I cannot hit the koha or opac directiiers (called lib and lookup here). I have to use an IP number. I have added both to my /etc/hosts files. (attached) Also attached is the appropriate section of httpd.conf. What am I missing ooh great one? Many thanks! Yes, a windows server solution is great as many libraries get free servers and software from bother BILL under the gates grant. I think this is great!
