Rancor/Advanced MARC Editor templates?

Hi all, Is it possible to define templates for Rancor/Advanced MARC Editor? On systems like Horizon, it's possible to have different templates, so cataloguers can at a glance see what fields they need to fill in for a particular type of record (e.g. book vs journal vs dvd). If it's not possible, I want to make it possible, but I'm not sure if we should use the "Editor" setting in MARC Bibliographic Frameworks, or create a new feature for providing Rancor Templates. Personally, I've always hated how MARC Bibliographic Frameworks act as both Editor templates (for rendering HTML) and data filters (ie if the field is not in the framework, it gets stripped out of the record at save time). In my ideal world, editor templates and data filters would be 2 separate features. For Rancor, I think MARC Bibliographic Frameworks already act as data filters, and it would be backwards incompatible to use them for templates as well, so adding a new feature for Rancor templates is probably the logical conclusion? KC apt server, time for an upgrade?

hi Folks we are starting to bump into some problems with the old debian version on debian.kc.org (its running deb7) it seems that the VM's old version of reprepro is not capable of importing/processing signed debian packages, due to using an older version of gpg, (not gpg2?) the error is described below, yet none of the solutions work :/ https://serverfault.com/questions/770130/reprepro-export-could-not-find-sig… # reprepro -V export unstable Exporting unstable... generating main/Contents-i386... generating main/Contents-amd64... Koha doesn't use /cgi-bin/koha/errors/500.pl for most internal server errors

Hi all, While looking at Bug 24574, I realized that Koha doesn't use /cgi-bin/koha/errors/500.pl when it throws a fatal error; instead it shows very stark not user-friendly messages, which vary depending on if you're using Plack Koha or CGI Koha. I've opened https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=26048 which details the reasons why it doesn't and some possible resolutions. I'd love to get some community input on that bug, as there are different options that each have their pros and cons. Apologies for all the text in that bug. As per usual, I was very detailed. 855 Field and SQL Query

Hi All - when I try and pull out subfield $u of the 856 field I always get the public note as well (i.e. $z). An example of the query I'm running: select biblionumber, ExtractValue(metadata,'//datafield[@tag="245"]/subfield[@code>="a"]') AS title, ExtractValue(metadata,'//datafield[@tag="856"]/subfield[@code>="u"]') as URL from biblio_metadata where ExtractValue(metadata,'//datafield[@tag="856"]/subfield[@code>="u"]') like '%dawsonera.com%'; This is correct isn't it? I haven't requested $z, so not sure why it is always in the results? Feature? Bug? Or me doing something wrong? Persistent identifiers in MARC record?

Hi all, Last couple of weeks I had a discussion with David about this subject on bug 24544. Please see https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=24544 What do you think? If your authority, biblio or item has a PID, should we save it in MARC too? Noting that MARC is just a representation or view of your data. We already have a biblio_metadata table that allows for more. What if we already had multiple views? If you can, you are welcome to contribute to that discussion on the bug report. Thanks, Marcel

JSON templates and translation

Hi, We faced a bug on a JSON template broken by PO translation of the column "borrowernumber" /koha-tmpl/intranet-tmpl/prog/en/modules/members/tables/members_results.tt How could we avoid this ? 1/ Disable translation of JSON templates and JS caller must translate using _(). 2/ Add a way to define string to translate in JSON templates, like _() in JS. KTD: Remote debugging (new way)

Maybe you've been following the latest German Perl Workshop 2020 news, but just in case, there's been an announcement of a full implementation of the Language Server protocol [1] for Perl [2]. As you can see in the langserver site, this is supported in most of the code editors available. I haven't managed to have the time yet to put all the things together so we can use it to develop Koha.
