Hello, I'm Stéphane Delaune (aka reiveune) from BibLibre I am the developer of the Perl module MARC::Transform ( https://metacpan.org/pod/MARC::Transform ), this module is in version 0.003008 since april but, in debian.koha-community.org, the version is only 0.003006 that is 5 years old (2 versions late, including a bugfix) I would like to know if someone is able to update this package in debian.koha-community.org (and in https://packages.qa.debian.org/libm/libmarc-transform-perl.html on which the version is 0.003007) thank you in advance Stéphane Delaune

Bootstrap 4 upgrade for the OPAC

Hi all, I've been working on a Bootstrap 4 upgrade to the OPAC (Bug 20168, https://bugs.koha-community.org/bugzilla3/show_bug.cgi?id=20168) My work in progress is here: https://gitlab.com/koha-dev/koha-dev/-/tree/wip-2020-05-14-opac-bootstrap-4 One of the differences between this version and master is that Bootstrap assets will be added by npm and the OPAC's SCSS files built using those. This seems to make more sense than adding the entire Bootstrap library to our repo and building from there. I think the same should probably be done for jQuery and jQueryUI. Replace some koha-* scripts that use "daemon" with systemd unit files

Hi all, What do people think about replacing some of the koha-* script files with systemd unit files? I'm creating a service for a RabbitMQ-based task scheduler and my unit file is 17 declarative configuration lines. Creating a koha-mq-scheduler file looks like it'll be hundreds of lines of shell script code. My unit file is actually a "template" file, which means I have 1 file in /etc/systemd/system/koha-mq-scheduler@.service and I can just invoke "systemctl start koha-mq-scheduler(a)INSTANCE.service" to start the service. You can use the %i placeholder in the unit file and it will be replaced with INSTANCE, so you can set paths, environmental variables, et cetera very easily. It's so easy and convenient. I think all modern Linux OSes use systemd for their init system, so I think it would be pretty safe to use. I'm happy to work on this one, but I guess I'd like to see if other people have interest in this. Fwd: Repack git repo

Hi all, As the release is now done, yesterday ~3pm Central Standard Time I ran a repack on the Koha repo. The repo is now 1.03G in size, down from 4.6G. There is more work to be done on that server - namely it's got a old and busted (and cantankerous!) OS, and thusly an old and busted (and cantankerous!) git version. It will need an upgrade at least, and it may end up being a server move. I don't have a timeline for any of that, but will aim to make it as unimpactful as I can when it happens, and will let everybody know closer to the time. Alerting users to breaking changes / backwards incompatibility

Hi all, I was just thinking how a lot of SQL reports will return unexpected results when we merge the deleted* tables with their live/active counterparts. What do people think about a modal popup in the reports (on a per user basis) alerting them to how they may need to update their reports following an upgrade which changes reporting behaviour? I'm not 100% sure how we'd do it, but it's something we could re-use through much of the Koha staff client. Or maybe we could raise a flag in the borrower row during an upgrade, and when they log into the staff client, they're presented with a "You need to know." kind of page. After all, users aren't going to be reading release notes, and sysadmins doing upgrades aren't necessarily going to do the best job communicating to every single staff user about what they need to know in an upgrade. But that's easier said than done too, especially when you're upgrading past multiple versions. Anyway, just putting it out there. As you can see, I haven't thought about it too deeply yet. If you have time to work through any test upgrades/installs using the nightly Debian repository it would be greatly appreciated to get your feedback.
