Is Nicole still the documentation manager? The 16.11 release notes say so but I thought Chris C had a role there now? Function for multivaluated syspref

Hi, Is there any function to check if a value is checked in a multivaluated syspref ? I don't see any and the few multivaluated function I saw seem using long template line code to do this simple thing. Could this be a good idea to write one ? Baptiste

Hi from Oslo, and C4::Auth

Hi, I believe most of you met me on IRC as "oha", for the others I'm a software developer working at Deichman library here in Oslo: Nice to meet you all! In the last week, I had a look at C4::Auth, and how the whole authentication, authorization and session management works. I came up with a little prototype which replace most of C4::Auth, CGI and Session with something I believe simpler and easier to extend. right now, it doesn't support anything but simple authentication. But most of the work done to integrate with CAS or Shib should be easily refactored in (I don't have a test environment for that, and I know too little to help much) To simplify the transition, I'm developing it without changing anything on the common koha code. IOW if you run it via apache it will behave like it was in the past, but if you are in plack and want to check it out, you just have to enable the new Koha::Middleware::Session and the new system will just "magically" replace the old one. Hopefully the transition won't be long and we can then refactor the rest of the code and drop the magic-ness. the code is now divided in 2 parts: there is an abstract Koha::Session with implementations for memcache, mysql and memory only (the last one is not really useful when forking) there is also a Koha::Auth which support modules for different auth systems, right now only simple authentication is supported. Koha::Auth also provide templating (this should be refactored again later, probably, but... baby steps for now) and it works more like an Auth Environment for every users. on my test box it seems to be working fine, but I'm positive I have missed few bits here and there. I will definitely need some feedback and help to finish the design for different auth modules, so if you are currently using one and you are willing to help, please let me know. more in general, would be nice to know what do you think about it, you can find a WIP branch here: https://github.com/digibib/Koha/tree/auth_session_refactor TIA Francesco

Removal of api/swagger/definitions.t

Hi, I propose removing t/db_dependent/api/swagger/definitions.t for a simple reason: it is not obvious that our endpoints should mimick our object models. For instance, if some fields should not be exposed on the API, then they should not be tested for existence. Also, think of fields that have names that are kept for historical reasons and should better be changed on the published api. Maybe I went too far explaining it, but I think it should be removed. Hea v2

Hi developers, I have submitted a version 2 of Hea on bug 18066. There are changes to the server code (hea-ws and hea-app) and Koha. I will need help for testing. There are screenshots on bug 18066 comment 2, and a test plan on comment 7. Help requested - new Koha installer and onboarding tool

Hello, As some of you may know, a lot of works have been made by Alex, Owen and <alexbuckley(a)catalyst.net.nz>Mark to provide a new Koha installer. It really looks awesome and it would be great to get it in quickly. An onboarding tool feature is added at the end of the installation process to create some mandatory data, like library, patron category, superlibrarian, etc. Everything is almost done and has been fully tested. However a big bug has been found during the QA review: some sample data files have been moved from a directory to another and the translated files have not been taken into account. Which leads to issues if you try to install Koha using a translated languages. Bug 17855 (onboarding tool) and bug 17942 (web installer style improvement) are ready (fully tested). But we need bug 18039 (move the installer files for translated languages) first. It is not easy to test everything for just one guy, so we would need one person for each language: de-DE, es-ES, fr-FR, fr-CA, , it-IT, nb-NO, pl-PL, ru-RU and uk-UA The goal is to: 1. apply 18039, then 17855 and finally 17942 (things are not clear on the bug reports, so please use my remote branch [1]) 2. Translate the template for your language 3. Try the new web installer process, using your language 4. Get amazed about how beautiful it is 5. Switch to master, update the templates 6. Select all the sample files, screenshots of the file list, DB dump 7. Switch to the new branch 8. Select all the sample files, screenshots of the file list, DB dump 9. Compare all what you can compare and make sure the behaviours before and after the patches are the same. Let me know if you have any questions. If you are using ru-RU and uk-UA, be around!
