Hi to all, I have installed koha pre-requirements with koha-common using deb http://debian.koha-community.org/koha squeeze-dev main the version of Zebra installed in 2.0.44 Today Zebra is 2.0.58 In ChangeLog there are same useful fix, for example this: 2.0.53 ICU: support @attr 5=2, @attr 5=3 in searches. (left truncation and left+right truncation). But attention, now Zebra use yaz version 5.x. I don't konow what is better to do. Feedback on bug 8000

Greetings, Looking at my branches to prune, I noticed bug 8000. I see my last comment was: "It would seem that Kyle recommended Data::Validate::Email in comment 27 and Marcel recommended Email::Valid in comment 7. Email::Valid is far more active than Data::Validate::Email. Just thought I'd point out the activity. Is there a preference?" I thought I'd make it a little more visible and ask, which library should we use for email validation? GPML, Mark Tompsett

Batch modifications for records

Hi developers, A long time ago, we had bug 5725 (Batch modifications for Biblios). It has been rewritten and abandoned. We waited for bug 8015 (Add MARC Modifications Templates) which is now in 3.14. But it is marked as "experimental", and it is a good thing given that some behaviors are buggy. Hopefully we now have some bug reports, with patches! Bug 11319 is a preparation step for bug 11413. This one is the bugfix for the weird behaviors existing in 3.14 and master. Icing on the cake, bug 11395 introduces a new tool to modify records (biblio and authority) in a batch using Marc modification templates. Librarians really like to modify records in a batch. So make them happy and test these patches! Koha are waiting this feature for 3 years! And now we can have it, with unit tests! Dear Community, I spent the last day of the hackfest in Marseille hacking together a "proof of concept" script for checking changes in the performance of Koha over time: https://github.com/digibib/kohaprofile The idea is to step x commits back in time, run a bunch of timed tests/benchmarks on Koha, take one step forwards in time, run the tests again etc. Hopefully this might be able to show us what the general trends are, and if there are any changes that lead to noticeable increases in response times. If you run the same benchmark a few times in a row, the response times vary quite a bit. Perhaps there is too much "noise" for this to be really useful. (To mitigate this, the script can run the tests y number of times and record the average time. Perhaps there are better ways to deal with the statistics of this, like removing the fastest and the slowest time etc.) This is a "proof of concept", so I would be really interested in hearing your thoughts on it. If the concensus is that it does not yield interesting data, I'll abandon the project. If people think it has some merit I would be more than happy to accept pull requests for improving it. :-) See the README for some ideas for improvements. Does anyone know if there are tools that can do what I'm trying to accomplish here (specifically the idea of stepping through Git history to check performance) already? Best regards, Magnus

New koha-community.org DNS entry + git repo for koha users statistics

Hello, We're working hard on the idea of a database of Koha users during the hackfest. A 1st patch will be submitted to bugzilla soon or very soon. we've developed a website (1st draft, really) to display some statistics. We propose to name it "hea" => it's a maori word (of course) : http://www.maoridictionary.co.nz/word/1006 If Chris agrees with the idea (or anyone speaking Maori ;-) ) : * We propose to host the website. Could someone open hea.koha-community.org (and make it point to 88.190.50.177 ? * Where could we push the http://hea.koha-community.org code ? on a separate repo on git.koha-community.org ? On contribs ? (for now, it's on github). 3.14 duplicate records not recognized?

hi to all. when I try to import a duplicate record from z39.50, koha 3.14 doesn't tell me nothing about replace the existed record or make a new copy: before upgrading there was that alarm. where is the problem? thanks in advance a. furin --
