Hello, I just pushed a few minuts ago a patch that will have Koha raise an error message when there is a mySQL error. All developers should activate this in their staff & OPAC virtual hosts. Thus if there are errors, they'll be displayed & visible. Date picker (bz 7182)

Hello world, As we've said previously, the Koha datepicker is out of date, unmaintained, and we should go for a jquery one. It doesn't matter which one we choose for me, but let's choose one. Anyone an opinion ? owen, you'll probably a more important voice than anyone else here. bugzilla patch status order changes

You'll now see Needs Signoff Signed Off Pushed for QA Passed QA Patch Pushed Does not apply Failed QA (usually, the new status is/will just be the status next to the current one. Very small change in bugzilla (priority)

Hello, I'm sure all of you have once asked yourself "well, is Priority 1 high, or low ?" Now you've the answer : i've updated the label facing P1 and P5, that's now P1-high and P5-low (the default value) no other changes (even if I'd like to get rid of this PATCH-Sent status that should not be here. QA Contact field in Bugzilla

Friends, I've gone ahead and moved the "koha-bugs(a)lists.koha-community.org" account from the default QA contact for each component in bugs.koha-community.org, to a Global Watcher. This gives us a simpler configuration, fewer risks of breakage (since someone could change the QA contact on a bug report), and the use of QA Contact for actual QA. I've set myself as the new default contact for all components; I'll work out with Jonathan and Marcel a good system for assigning them incoming tickets to QA. We may need to update this next release cycle, but it only takes a few minutes to do. I have *not* changed all the existing bugs to use this new system; that would spam the heck out of everyone. I'll just start making use of this feature as I test things, and eventually, all the unresolved bugs should get updated. Hello Koha, I've just pushed my first patches, thanks to chris & brendan for their help. The first three ones were not pushed in a specific branch, I made a mistake, that is now fixed, so it should be OK. I've started a wiki page to explain how the RM pushes patches. sending patches to koha-patches mailing list ?

Hello everybody, The workflow we have atm is to send all patches to the koha-patches mailing-list. New ones, as well as signed-off. I think it's a good idea for new patches, that's a good source to see what has been submitted, even if we also have other sources. But for signed-off patches, I think it's useless time-consuming: - the signoff is also in the bug itself, having it in the mailing list add nothing. (we also have KohaGBSD that automatically tweets all status changes, plus "signed-off" query on bugzilla) - with git bz, we have a very fast and handy way to retrieve & send patches to the bug, so who still uses patches from the mailing list ? (note: if you don't use git bz, you should ! see http://wiki.koha-community.org/wiki/Git_bz_configuration) So I suggest to update our rule to request sending only new patches to the mailing list. Koha in a Norwegian Library School by Magnus Enger The library program at the Oslo and Akershus University College of Applied Sciences (http://www.hioa.no/eng/) is now offering personal Koha installations to all first and second year students – a total of about 225 students. Installations will be used during the whole of the education, including for mandatory assignments in cataloging. The installations utilize the Debian packages, and the university college is handling all hosting and installation in-house. Koha OPAC Web App by Stefano Bargioni I’ve created a Koha OPAC for smartphones and tablets. It is located at http://catalogo.pusc.it/mobile/ and can be accessed not only from smartphones but also from desktop PCs using any modern browser. It is a very simple OPAC interface, up to now. Based on jQuery Mobile, it accesses Koha using its SRU server. So it is not an app, nor a set of CSS that adapt Koha web pages to little screens. It is a web app, if I may say so. Past Koha Events Koha 3.6.0 Released During Access2011 Conference by Chris Cormack Last Thursday 20th October I gave a talk at Access2011: The Library is Open in Vancouver titled Tātou tātou: Caring and sharing in a Free and Open source Project. The talk focused on lessons learned by the Koha community that would be of interest to other emerging open source software communities. It was particularly appropriate to the international nature of the Koha community that a kiwi guy could write the release notes, push patches and release Koha 3.6.0 while away in Vancouver. As many of you know Koha 3.6.0 was a major and very satisfying release to be part of. With 85 enhancements and 356 bugfixes Koha 3.6.0 included 728 patches from 60 developers.
